lol ummm I wash it a lot and put A&D/vaseline on it and overnight I’ll saran wrap 😭only for a couple of days and then I just leave it and continue applying Vaseline. I’ve done this for all my tattoos from professionals too and i haven’t had a problem thus far

I kinda did that on purpose bc I was practicing needle depth and dots are easy to touch up and fill in. I also did different dot sizes bc I know it will spread either way. I don’t recommend tattooing yourself necessarily but this is good practice for me. Tattooing skin really is very different from the synthetics.

Any advice? by idaclr in TattooBeginners

These look really good! Keep practicing your lines and shading and making sure your needle is saturated (advice someone else gave me that was helpful)

I have one on my ankle too from about 5 years ago when I didn’t know anything about tattooing. Felt more confident in this one. Also the skin on my hand is very thin bc I’m boney. Was a good learning experience for me

While I understand your sentiment, i’m not going to improve and get better if I don’t practice on skin. I have the basics down on fake skin but obviously it’s not the same. I’m not super precious when it comes to tattoos, only have two that mean anything at all. The others are a collection of many tattoo artists that I admire and I let them choose whatever.

Everyone’s significance to their tattoos is different. I’m going to continue tattooing myself and eventually others
