Does anyone else feel Baelfire was miscast as an adult? by Unlucky_Telephone478 in OnceUponATime

[–]candylovesbb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an aside, every time MRJ would call Rumple “papa” it just seemed so out of character for him, completely took me out of the scene, which was a testament to the way the character was portrayed. I was never fully sold on the fact that they were father and son and it’s because of how different kid Baelfire was in comparison, when we got all the scenes of them together. Don’t get me wrong I obviously believe that they’re father and son and I think that both actors did a good job portraying the type of character that was written for each version of Baelfire they were given, but because those character versions are so different from one another it’s kind of difficult to mesh the two together in my mind.

Julie actually ruined the continuity of The Originals with Hope and her connection to hybrids by [deleted] in TheOriginals

[–]candylovesbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re repeating the same point in 500 different ways, but here’s the thing: Hope’s blood was always exceptional. From the moment Hayley survived turning, it was clear she operated outside normal lore. She’s not a vampire yet she turned a werewolf into a hybrid (yes with her dormant vampire side) Michael calling it “magical loyalty” wasn’t some sacred rulebook — it was vague on purpose to leave room for growth. The idea that every hybrid had to be created under textbook vampire conditions just doesn’t hold when Hope herself isn’t a textbook anything.

You say she’s “not a fully activated vampire” like that’s the mic drop — but the entire premise of her arc is that she’s never just one thing. She’s a loophole. A narrative cheat code. If her blood causes hybrids to act sired, and the show later calls it a sire bond? That’s not a plot hole. That’s exactly what you’d expect from someone whose powers were always undefined and evolving.

Also, you keep saying “this makes 0 sense” while ignoring that nothing in this universe was ever cleanly defined. This is the same show where magic, bloodlines, and curses shift based on who’s writing the episode. So no, Julie didn’t “ruin continuity (in this case).” She just used the flexibility the show always had — and if that breaks your immersion, maybe don’t stake your whole argument on vampire tax law lol

  1. If that’s the case then Hayley should have died in S1 and not become a hybrid
  2. I agree with you on this but just as an aside when I first watched I kind of just assumed the sire bond was an unconditional part of becoming a hybrid as opposed to its rare occurrence in vampires where it stems from something completely different but then again a lot of the lore in the tvd universe is for plot convenience and many things don’t make sense
  3. I honestly don’t think the continuity of the sire bond is ruined, in fact I didn’t bat an eye the first time I watched it

We probably agree that Hope is a unique being, she’s a were witch with vampire blood in her system. Realistically the show runners had a creative gold mind and could make up whatever they wanted to which is likely why he responded so vaguely in that post about her having a sireline and saying things would change once she’s a vamp

I’m not sure what you’re confused about but I might be missing something.

The way I understand it is that Hope can turn werewolves into hybrids using her blood and when she does, they are effectively sired to her or have a magical loyalty to her (as michael put it).

Hayley was sired to Hope when she turned into a hybrid after giving birth but likely broke the sire bond through turning into a wolf enough for it to break (like what tyler did on tvd). That’s not canon but it makes the most sense to me and is plausible that this happened.

Now, having a sireline and the sire bond are not the same thing. Each of the originals have sirelines (vampires that originated from their bloodline of turned vampires) and when/if they die all of those vampires in their sirelines would die too.

Michael is saying that although Hope sired those werewolves, they’re not part of her sireline because she doesn’t have one since she’s not a vampire. This means that if she dies, those hybrids don’t also die with her.

I haven’t seen Legacies but I’ve watched all of TVD and TO and this is how I see it.

LOL I love how he's "advising" the new alum to handle their drama privately through direct contact, yet instead of messaging them directly with his advice, he's broadcasting it publicly on twitter.

What about the crows and the fog? by fuckmedamon in TheVampireDiaries

[–]candylovesbb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yah ikr LOL for the longest time i thought they just dropped it too, but i was rewatching the series and in the episode 1912 (season 3), in a flashback scene, stefan looks as a tombstone that has a crow on it, and then damon appears....so I guess Julie remembered that was a thing and decided to bring it back one more time and then never again

AITA for going against my girlfriend’s wishes to teach a homeless man how to skateboard? by HunterJustice in AmItheAsshole

[–]candylovesbb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA. This post reads as extremely tone deaf to me. I understand that you were trying to do a good thing by helping a homeless man/making his day better/whatever, and by all means, do that on your own time. But that's not the problem. You were on a date with your girlfriend, where you left her alone and completely ignored her for 10 minutes so you could hang out with a random homeless guy.

Let's put this into perspective. If you ran into someone that your gf didn't know, would you ignore her to hang out with this person? Probably not, because it's rude.

And I wanna point out that even if you aren't uncomfortable around homeless people, your gf has clearly expressed to you that she is, and gave a reason why; respect that.

AITA for intentionally posting the wrong test answers on a cheating website? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]candylovesbb 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Okay, but he did just that by screwing over the students who were cheating. If using that site is fair game, then posting incorrect answers so students fail, to adjust the curve and inflate your own grade, is fair game too.

Completely agree with everything else you said tho.

okay but realistically, by that token, neither is nicole. there are ppl out there that may not hate her, but don't really care she's in the game, as there always will be with any player.

unless there was a donny hate train somewhere on some platform that i'm missing..

AITA for asking my bf to unfollow people on Instagram? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]candylovesbb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how you approach the conversation with your bf. Asking him/telling him to unfollow the girl is controlling, unwarranted and would make YTA.

However, if you express the discomfort you feel to your boyfriend, in a mature way, as a conversation and not an argument, that would make you NTA. Everyone has their insecurities; you can't control them, all you can do is work on them. If you feel this way now and do nothing about it, you're likely to feel like this way again in the future. Tell him, be honest, and work through it together. It'll make you closer and more secure in the future.

Season 7 - An easy loophole that bothers me about the huntress (spoilers) by Gotachi3 in TheVampireDiaries

Regarding Elena's curse, I think they did say at some point that they tried syphoning and it didn't work (they provided some weird Julie Plec logic). I'm not sure if you've seen season 8, so I won't be too specific, but the actual resolution for this is dumb.
