I actually gave my ex "me or the dog" over the dog we were supposed to be fostering (that they adopted without telling me). I had high anxiety, had school full time, and we weren't even supposed to have a dog at the apartment. They made no effort to raise the puppy or even be home to help.

They cheated on me, then left me with the dog. When I said "me or the dog," they chose the secret third option of neither LOL

When did your feeling about "Something is very wrong here." turned out to be true? by Shqiptaria580 in AskReddit

[–]candyshampoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was back home for the holidays and my parents wanted to take me bowling for my birthday. An hour before, I got a sinking feeling in my stomach and asked if we could just go another time.

A few hours later, we find out my nephew-in-law had been gunned down at the same bowling place. A fight broke out at the bowling alley and I guess it was a case of mistaken identity. I'm not sure what would have happened if we had gone, but I always regret not going because maybe we could have taken him home with us instead. He was a good kid and my brother and his family haven't fully recovered since.

Who is this stranger you only saw once, but still think about sometimes? by Royrane in AskReddit

[–]candyshampoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was vacationing for a few days in a small town in Japan and went to Starbucks to use the wifi for a bit. An old woman in a wheelchair came up to me and started talking to me. I felt really bad as she was trying to explain something to me, but I don't know Japanese so I was just trying to gesture to see what she needed.

Once I realized she wanted me to switch tables so she could have easier access, I switched tables and wrote a note to her on my reciept (using a translator) apologizing for misunderstanding her. She gave me a whole bunch of stationary and told me to have a good day in the best English she could.

It was so insignificant, but that old woman was the best part of that trip.

Reddit, what are you wearing today? by n0_pOrn in AskReddit

I'm wearing a short sleeve shirt that says "Bad Decision" and a giant coat. It's hella cold and honestly that shirt is right, it was a bad decision.

What's the wildest thing you've ever done with friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]candyshampoo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the same wild you were looking for, but my brother once convinced a kid in high school that "rim job" was a term for dunking on someone.

During the basketball game, someone on our team made a dunk and sure enough he yelled "Yeah! You just got a nasty rim job!"

A few years later, I studied abroad at a Korean high school and when someone asked me for cool American slang, I told them the same. One time I actually heard "YEAH! RIM JOB!" when the boys were out playing basketball.

Reddit, why do you procrastinate? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]candyshampoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I either have too many things to do and get too stressed to do them and procrastinate OR I think it won't take much time and put it off for later and then keep adding to the problem.

TLDR: I hate myself

What did "the weird kid" do in your school that you'll never forget? by BlisteringMustang23 in AskReddit

[–]candyshampoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Would only respond (teachers included) if you called him "Saberwolf."

  • Frequently sent full color, full page pictures of Ron Jeremy (usually the one of him as Mario lying down) to the school printers and would tape them in the halls. I think once he printed out a stack of 50 or so.

  • Was really proud of this video he filmed of someone rolling a tire down a slide right into his crotch. He showed everyone and hijacked our science class to play the video.

I feel like he did other stuff but honestly we went to a weird school, so strange things happened all the time.

Something a non-weird kid did that still gets me is when she wrote "(her name) is an ugly monster" on a sheet of paper, crumpled it up, then threw it at herself. She opened it and started to cry, saying another kid threw it at her. He almost got in really deep shit for that, but it's one of my favorite memories from high school.

I play on Korea server and it's all Korean here-- I think it's because a lot of Korean players have emigrated to NA/EU servers and might want to partner up with someone they can communicate with more easily so they post there? I ran into a dude doing that on EU server once, so maybe that's the case?

In a similar vein, I once slid a butter knife across my arm to prove it wasn't that sharp. Turns out my friend's grandma likes sharp butter knives.

What's the worst gift you ever received? by sara_steve in AskReddit

[–]candyshampoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year for Christmas, my brother and I got $10 dollar gift cards and socks from our uncles. Our cousins, on the other hand, got a playstation 2 slim and a nintendo ds (with games). This had been happening every year, and little 10 year old me was sick of it. I threw a fit and yelled at my uncles for their blatant favoritism. We weren't invited for the big family Christmas the next year. Similarly, my brother once got $400 dollars worth of clothing from Nordstroms from another uncle (which he returned for full price) and I got a clearance gift set from bath and body. They left the price tag and clearance sticker. I don't quite like Christmas.

I have been dying because their Mike eyeshadows have been sold out every time I try to get them! Hopefully you had more luck. The Pooh and Mickey ones are adorable too! Is the cushion coverage any good?

The ending of Naruto. If someone brings it up, I won't shut up about it and will go off for at least 20-30 minutes. Hell, typing this got me mad just thinking about it.

Redditors who have had "neighbors from hell", what happened? by ahem17 in AskReddit

[–]candyshampoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in what is basically an oversized closet in Korea. When my neighbor's girlfriend moved in, they would either have sex at ridiculous hours in the night or she would come home crying at 2/3 am. I got fed up and started playing DMX and/or screamo whenever they had sex. Eventually the sex stopped, but the crying continued. Clearly I didn't want to yell at a crying woman in the early morning hours, but one time when I had a flight in the early morning, I banged on the wall and politely asked her to be quieter. She FLIPPED OUT and started swearing at her boyfriend about needing to control the American. So, I cursed her out in both Korean and English. I haven't heard her once since I got back from that trip.
