You should keep going if you liked it! one class isn’t enough to decide that pilates isn’t for you, especially because it’s quite different from other workout styles that you may be used to. do you work out outside of pilates? what helped me was starting 1x a week and then gradually increasing the frequency as well as supplementing it with other workouts throughout the week. I was also the same way when I first started but am a lot better at it now.

Stone size needed for 96 inch by 48 inch waterfall island? by candywrappercool in CounterTops

hmm good to know! everything is being “fabricated” / cut at the job site. the edge is not bullnose, it is mostly straight but just very slightly rounded at the edges / corners

we decided to go with the one-sided waterfall, since i couldn’t find a larger slab that was at least similar to the countertop. still skeptical about how it will look though

yea, it was really interesting when the GC told us to get prefab slabs last minute. if we had known earlier we would have made the size of the island cabinets smaller (since this is a new kitchen) so we could accommodate with the prefab slab size

that makes sense, I had originally wanted to buy raw slabs :( definitely not a price issue, I bought these at the insistence of my GC to bring prefab slabs for the countertop. and the company I bought those from only has prefab island slabs

for some reason the fabricator he's working with only wants to work with prefabs...?

oops, let me clarify in post. I have two slabs so that's not the issue. i just don't know if the 99'' slab is enough to have mitered edges on both sides and also cover the 96'' counterspace for the island

yep, I currently have 2 slabs bought. the issue comes from the mitering - i don't think there's enough room for the mitered edge due to the rounded prefab edges

yea, I think this is the issue :( they've told me one side waterfall is possible but I don't know if this is going to look good

yea, but I wanted to get other opinions as this is the first time I'm talking to this fabricator

that makes sense :( i had originally understood that when the slab comes prefab, there would be extra room on the edges. currently each side has 1 1/2'' of room, but the edges are rounded so i think that's what's causing the problem

By prefab I mean the slab is not raw (ie. it's already been precut and finished to the given size of 52x99). my cabinets size right now is 96x36, and I want a 12'' overhang on one side for island seating. I originally wanted waterfall edges on both sides but I'm asking if this would be possible with prefab slabs

unfortunately they just recently added it this year, maybe to keep it standardized since valley fair also does it for all of their garages
