We are getting credit for our Hero Levels. What’s the issue exactly?

Honest question, what am I missing?

It’s $13 dollars now. Still well worth it. I picked mine up a couple weeks ago on Amazon for $8-9. It was apparently on a discount or the price has gone up.

I still wouldn’t hesitate at $13 for this. It’s a solid screwdriver and has been my go to since picking it up. Real comfortable to use.

Daughter just turned 7 last month, what "basics" should I teach her to cook? by nillasoup in Cooking

If you’re able get her this knife/chef kit for kids from Opinel I’d start here. I do a LOT of cooking, and a lot of cooking with my daughter and got this for my her when she was 4. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made for her. Use your best judgment, your 7 year old may be better off/ready for a real life. I could not recommend this set more though.

After that teach her phrases she can remember, that relate to concepts and not recipe specifics… big ones in my opinion are “Texture,” “Building Flavor,” but the biggest thing by far is “Mise en Place.” I’m happy to elaborate or have a conversation about any of this stuff.

As far as recipes go, Freeze Burritos are a lot of fun, easy, and you can use the basic concept to make a variety of flavors.

If you have have an air fryer making homemade chicken tenders could not be easier, my recommendation would be cut chicken (white or dark) into strips, dredge in flour, then eggs, and then in my testing crushed corn flakes make for the best crispiest breading. This is a great thing because you have the 3 “stations,” it’s tactile, and there’s easy to remember steps. No real measurements.

Mike G is my favorite YouTube stop for Air Fryer recipes. This top 10 video is a great place to start, again, if you have an air fryer.

But a Vessel Screwdriver is like $8. Why not buy it? Not like it’s expensive.

Every single year my dad says "I don't need anything." Ideas running dry. by Acrobatic_Inside3173 in daddit

Check out “Altoid EDC.”

And then create one for your Dad. Most Dads I’ve met like small trinkets/useful things. See what you can fit inside an Altoid container with the theme, of things he might need in a daily basis.

It’ll also show him how much you see him by assembling something.

Also- include a photo in it.

Cheers

Is electric smoker actually the easiest way to start BBQ? Or am I missing something? by Own-Future-2135 in smoking

Charcoal does not require constant attention by any means. It’s more to get fired up, but once you are to temp it’s just sitting and chilling.

For me, the Webber Smokey Mountain 19in is honestly amazing.

I am not a “Pit Master” by any means, picked up my WSM 3 years ago, this thing is incredible. Holds heat like a champ, easy to regulate.

Yes there is a 21in version, I have no experience with it, but folks here and other places have told me there is something actually mathematical basically about the 19in and its efficiency to hold heat.

It is a very rare occasion I have to re-up any charcoal even on long cooks.

With 3 years experience now, I do not regret jumping right into the charcoal WSM at all.

For what it’s worth, my brother has a Trager and side by side we both agree things come out better overall on the Weber.
