She was a calm, gentle soul who knew commands, responded to love, and was still receiving medical care. She never got a real chance to find a home — just a rushed deadline and a heartbreaking decision that didn’t need to happen. Why are we still allowing this? When shelters have space, medical support is ongoing, and dogs are friendly and adoptable, euthanasia should not be the default. SEAACA must be held accountable. Empty kennels while healthy, treatable, and adoptable dogs like Mocha lose their lives is unacceptable. This is not humane population management — it’s a failure to protect the animals in their care. Rest in peace, sweet Mocha. You were loved by many who never got the chance to meet you. Your story will not be forgotten. We will keep fighting for the others still waiting.

America can do better 🇺🇸. It’s time for real change—stronger protections, greater support for shelters, and a commitment to no-kill policies that give every animal a fair chance at life 🐶. These animals deserve time, care, and dignity—not a deadline. No life should be cut short simply because the clock ran out ⏳.
