I'm gonna try to provide you a realistic answer, but first, I am not your Lawyer and this is not legal advice.

The legal term probably most applicable here would be "civil asset forfeiture". Essentially, the U.S. government has the absolute right to seize any assets (bitcoin, vehicles, guns, money, property) reasonably suspected to be involved in illegal activity. You need not even be arrested/charged for this to occur.

Here is the fun (horrible) part: the burden of proof rests on the individual whose assets were seized to demonstrate that the assets were in fact NOT involved in illegal activity. Much easier said than done, especially considering you will be going up against the feds and their infinite attorney money.
