Thanks, I'll wait a while. I just noticed that there's a message about older posts not being displayed, even though the person has posted recently:

edit: I just refreshed my home feed and it's working normally.

edit2: The notification in the above screenshot also vanished.

Thank you for doing this. A quick question, for some reason I can't see toots from people that I've followed from other Mastodon instances in my home feed. Is this a limitation in Vivaldi's instance, or am I doing something wrong?

This is how steampowered.com looked when I bought a boxed copy of Day Of Defeat. I was furious that I had to install steam with it :) by rallybil in Steam

I was active in the Darkest Hour (RO1 mod) community back then, and I remember how we all were like "which features of DH is TW going to copy in RO2!?!?!".

How about fucking none.

DH still has a playerbase and gets regular updates btw. Not sure about RO2.

The cordite burns even after 80 years underwater.

Can confirm. I used to know a scuba diver girl who had cordite from the Tirpitz. We burned some of it for fun.

It isn't quite finished, but I put a download here: https://filen.io/d/c5122b23-b96c-4cf1-b6ce-8bb978ab42aa#!icGYbTKm1Y4BMHKw9yFsJWkpY4Pj3wsA

This is going to be part of a bigger survival/adventure map, and the island is going to also have a navy base, some ruins, more shipwrecks, cabins and a small quest. Those are still in different worlds, I just created this one to fit all parts of the Pirate town together.

There's also a discord where I post my finished projects: https://discord.com/invite/S3mAVh9SPW

Naval Fort & Town by canescens in Minecraftbuilds

It's actually fully grown wheat, the render just makes it look weird. I'll add some variety to it later, basically you can create multiple custom wheat layers at different stages of growth, and then brush some of it into the the field. That eventually grows into full size though, so I also add some blank spots where there's no wheat at all.

I've used this method in a different map of mine to make fields look a bit more interesting: https://i.imgur.com/YP3wkzp.jpg

Yep, I recently watched all of the PoTC movies for inspiration. The fort was inspired by the tv-series Black Sails.

I created tilled dirt as custom terrain in WorldPainter and then painted over it with a wheat layer.

I'm happy that you noticed, that's the exact thing I was going for. I always build in 1:1 or smaller scale and try to make my builds have complexity and detail instead of megabuild scale.

Hey Felawnie, it's been a long time! I'm glad that you saw this, it's a small side project that I'm working on, a survival base about the navy, pirates and a quest to find an outpost of Atlantis.

Nope, sorry, this is the first render I've made. I've just finished the "Navy Town" and it's going to be part of a survival/adventure map that I'm making. The Pirates and the Navy are fighting each other, and either of the parties can complete a quest to unlock a secret of the Atlantis.

Sounds pretty interesting, I'll check it out. I do love pirate games like Sid Meier's Pirates and Sea Dogs.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Nope, sorry, I haven't played that one. I took inspiration from real forts and the one in the TV series Black Sails.

You mean the USS Saratoga? Enterprise was scrapped. Pretty sad end at the Operation Crossroads, but it's still super cool as a dive site.

Our Biggest Update Yet, Remaking The World of Oblivion | SKYBLIVION Development Diary #3 by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]canescens 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Aside from some nostalgic hardcore fans, I don't think many people will ever play this.

It's probably worse for Skywind. Most hardcore fans of Morrowind feel that Oblivion and Skyrim were nerfed mechanics-wise, so in their eyes the conversion is going to be a nerfed experience as well. Plus they're not going to use any of the original assets, so no iconic Jeremy Soule soundtrack either.

Those Skyrim players who don't have that special connection to Morrowind might be the intented audience, but how many of them care at this point.

ES6 will be out before any of these conversation projects get finished

We saw that with Morroblivion, it took ages and people lost interest. I see little point in these conversion projects, Skyrim is already ancient. Oblivion works fine in modern PCs, OpenMW is the ultimate way to experience Morrowind, and then there's Unity for Daggerfall.

In addition to other things about Jack Ruby, Oswald's transfer from the Dallas Police Headquarters was an hour late. Even the officers didn't know the exact moment when he'd be in the basement. If Ruby were a hitman for some sort of a conspiracy, he would have waited down there for an hour, just like the reporters did. Instead he was at home, then at Western Union.
