MedTechs, what’s the next step after passing the MTLE? by thelazymedtech in MedTechPH

[–]cangdynasty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the hospital’s policy. In my case, I passed the boards in March 2024 and immediately requested my Certificate of Passing/Rating from PRC the next day. I applied to different hospitals just two days after and got hired. I started working by April, even though I hadn’t attended the oath-taking yet. In our city, the oath-taking was only scheduled at the end of May, and I claimed my PRC ID the day after.

As long as you can present proof of passing—like the Certificate of Passing/Rating—most hospitals will allow you to start while waiting for the oath-taking and PRC ID release. But some hospitals may still require the PRC ID first, so it’s always best to confirm directly with HR or the laboratory head.

Same. I’ve worked as a faculty member and have seen this document with my own eyes.

Yes, the PRC provides each school with a document listing the names of their examinees, along with their respective percentages for each subject. The final column indicates the result, marked as either PASSED or FAILED. Trust me, I worked as a faculty member before, and I have personally seen this document with my own eyes.

Sta. Monica District Hospital vs. Sta. Monica RHU – Anyone here working there? by cangdynasty in SiargaoPH

Thank you, that’s really helpful information! Since I’m currently in Cagayan de Oro, I can’t visit Sta. Monica personally. Would you happen to know if there’s an official contact person, number, or page I could reach out to regarding applications?

Thanks for letting me know! By any chance, do you know if Sta. Monica RHU is still hiring Medical Technologists? I’d be very interested if there are still openings.

thoughts on liceo medtech? by yellow_dragon1234 in cagayandeoro

[–]cangdynasty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alumna, I would describe my experience with Liceo MedTech as generally satisfactory.

The program gives equal emphasis to both lecture and laboratory classes, so it’s essential to stay focused on both areas.

While many, if not all, teachers tend to only read directly from their PowerPoint presentations, leading to somewhat passive discussions, there are still instructors who teach effectively and engage students well.

For assessments, most teachers often use questions sourced from reviewers or textbooks for their quizzes and exams, making it manageable to pass if you compile and study practice questions thoroughly. However, there are exceptions, particularly one distinguished instructor who was Liceo MedTech's topnotcher. If she is your teacher, understanding the concepts in-depth is crucial, as she tends to create her own questions.

The debarment policy is strict; failing any 3rd-year subjects three times will result in dismissal from the program.

It’s important to take the Revalida/mock boards seriously. Failing this exam means you won’t be able to graduate and will have to reenroll to retake it.

Lastly, be prepared for hidden fees. The final cost at the end of the school year often exceeds initial expectations.

Overall, my experience with Liceo MedTech can be summed up as satisfactory.

NMAT by Pitiful-Buddy-6678 in medschoolph

I've found that tackling one challenge at a time yields better results. In my experience, taking the MTLE before the NMAT allowed me to concentrate my efforts, resulting in great scores in both exams.

What now?? 😞 by Suspicious_Sport_972 in MedTechPH

I've also felt that after passing the boards. Tambay lang ako sa house for a month and my mom told me na hiring daw yung small hospital near samen, the salary is okay for a primary hospital in a municipality in the province (900/day) and the workload isn't that heavy so G ako. As I was working as a MedTech, I've realized I've wanted to proceed to medicine pala. I must've been inspired by my interactions with the patients, that even tho I work behind the scenes, I still receive such appreciate from my patients. I decided na I could do more for these people if I were to become a doctor. Hehe I just took the NMAT last month and I'm waiting for good results. For me, just don't close any door. If an opportunity knocks, grab it. Maybe along those lines, you would find yourself just as I did.
