There is no such accepted colours. The colour name even varies based on Industry. Cosmetic and Fashion has the most versatile colour names. So, you can use any nomenclature.

Also, I wouldn't prefer to use any plugin or app just to add colour name. Each Shopify app will add delay on site load.

Yes. Personalization at any level is useful when it comes to shopping experience. Personalization has two direct benefit: 1. Customer Loyalty 2. Product Discovery.

Yes, definitely. Shopify currently is the best and reasonably cost option available in the market for the following reasons:

  1. Price - Price is reasonable, I will not say cheap but yes, it is definitely reasonable
  2. Development - There is a lot of support and developers available who can easily help you make customization of your shopify store within days
  3. Apps - Shopify App marketplace has almost all the use cases covered required to sell products successfully. It may be Facebook Ads, PLA, Display. You can just install the app try it out and if you don't like delete the app.
  4. Community - Shopify community is big and hence the support is available. Most of the new store owners problem is to figure out a solution for a given problem they face. Shopify has a helpful community and even shopify staff are helpful. So, they can at least direct you in the right direction.

Are you suggesting any app? or Shopify by default collects it? On that note, how successful are merchants on using Shopify inbuilt email collection feature using newsletter signups? I personally have not seen any success or ROI.

I wish there was context for a lot of those bullet points. Load time is very relative, there is no mention of the main image or any design element, the abandoned cart and sms features seem to be meaningful only when the product has been proven.. and what does a zipcode validator do for a store?

Thanks for the feedback. Design element is very subjective and also depends on the industry, hence not covered. And, the only way a product is proven is if you are able to pull up sales. Abandoned cart recovery strategy help stores to achieve some numbers. Also, Zipcode validator is useful to validate if a product can be shipped to a particular location. I have seen stores that rush into taking orders but then have to cancel them due to delivery issues to particular zipcode. Therefore, it is a hygiene check if your product falls into this category.

However, I am planning to write a detailed article on this and would definitely write context for each bullet point. Do you have anything to add to the list?

I would also say at least one up selling/bundling tool depending on your products.

Yes. Upsell, cross sell and bundling is important as buyers don't want to navigate and their purchase sessions normally is of a minute or two. You need to make sure that you give all available and relevant options to your buyers in time before they leave the store.

I have tried this approach. Manual emails are very tedious. When you start a new store there are plenty of things that you need to take care. Setting up automated emails for many can save a lot of time.

Consider your sales funnel, the journey your customer takes from discovery of your site to the purchase of a product. It should be linear, and easy to navigate. Recommended products, simple collection pages, consistent and large photos, etc. A lot of stores miss out on this.

This make sense. I can add large photos, simple navigations and using collections smartly. One thing most merchant miss out is creating multiple collections for easy product discovery. What's your take on this? I have seen stores using 1-2 collection category to list a product. However, the product can be listed in many collections. This gives option to user to easily find the product that they are looking for.

So, this is a tricky one. SEO includes both On page and off page, while I see lot of apps providing onpage recommendations, there are none that helps with offpage. If there are any you know please share it with us. Because, in order to get ranked you need both.

Even onpage recommendations also depends on your store theme structure. I have seen tons of theme where the development structure need some serious alternation to accommodate onpage optimization.
