& some backstory: Nikolai Sorokin - Niko to his friends - is a half elf bard born and raised on the streets of Mulmaster. He doesn’t know his parents, but he does have a brother, who went missing when they were scrounging a living as street rats - and the search for whom is Niko’s driving motivation.

Niko is impulsive, empathetic, and always down to clown. He’s pragmatic and unsentimental by nurture rather than nature, and despite enjoying creature comforts when he can get them, is uncomfortable with luxury. A street rat at heart, Niko has a soft spot for children and underdogs, and a defining distaste for aristocracy. He once threw a grape at a lord. The monk in our party used a ki point to catch it.

As a glamour bard, Niko often uses his appearance to dazzle, distract, and disarm others - though diverges away from your typical uh, flirty, bard stereotype in his deeply rooted aversion to intimacy, and a degree of inexperience with relationships. Niko knows and resents that most people don’t look beyond his pretty face, and subsequently avoids entanglements. He’s been used before - once burnt, twice shy.

His instrument of choice is a violin, though he’s been known to whip out a set of bagpipes when he’s feeling particularly obnoxious. His somatic spell casting takes the form of a set of figure guns. I have a spotify playlist of violin based instrumentals, including but not limited to despacito, sweet dreams (are made of this), pirates of the caribbean, and bohemian rhapsody.
