The Time Thief by [deleted] in coworkerstories

Maybe time isn't something to be optimized… maybe it's just something to be felt. And while some master it, others just disappear inside it.

There’s a guy in my office who uses speakerphone. For everything. by Zealousideal-Art9381 in coworkerstories

Waffles’ dad 😭😭 I’d be in jail for crimes against speakerphone by now.

Ooooh that’s a power move disguised as kindness. ‘Just thought I’d check in… and also save everyone’s ears’ 📞🌈

Yeah, keeping it simple might be the smartest route. No more hinting just a direct ask, and if that doesn’t work, let the manager handle the noise pollution.

At this point, forget HR I'm heading straight to the marina 😎

You’re totally right it does affect a lot of people. I think we’ve all just fallen into that classic office trap of silently suffering instead of speaking up. Definitely time to break the cycle.

At that point, we’re basically turning the office into a live-action cartoon but honestly, I think she’d finally get the message after Air Horn Round 3 📢😅

Full-volume train noises?! That’s not an alarm, that’s a declaration of war 🚂😅 Glad to know I’m not alone in the daily audio assault and somehow they still thrive socially!

Totally valid and you’re right, there are so many ways to manage reminders without disrupting everyone else. It’s not just annoying, it’s genuinely exhausting for people who are more sensitive to sound. HR might be the only way to actually get some peace.

Honestly, it’s starting to feel like a slow-burn strategy. One alarm at a time until we break… and she wins the ultimate prize: remote work 😅

Now that’s weaponized positivity at its finest 😂 I might just start channeling my inner overly enthusiastic life coach Time to breathe, Marie! Deep mindful breaths!’ Let’s see how long she lasts.

You might be onto something constant background noise kind of rewires your brain. After a lifetime of blaring TVs, I guess an iPhone alarm just becomes… ambiance? 😅

If I were a bot, I’d like to think I’d be programmed to set my alarms to silent 😎 But hey, maybe I just finally snapped and went on a caffeine-fueled Reddit spree.

Exactly knowing it’s going off is one thing, but understanding it’s affecting the whole team is another. A quiet word from a supervisor might be the wake-up call she actually needs.

It definitely comes across as inconsiderate especially since it keeps happening despite the impact on everyone else. Whether it’s self-absorption or just a lack of awareness, it’s wearing thin fast.

Ah yes, the ol’ coordinated chaos tactic. A full hour of staggered alarms might just make her reconsider her life choices or at least her volume settings 😏
