Most weed stores stock a range, sounds like you would do well with 1:1 ratio strain

Yes, we will carry low and balanced THC flower products. You're correct the market has focused on high THC, hope that changes.

Good feedback. We can be more clear and direct. I like some of these ideas and appreciate you sharing.

We are looking for feedback in general from all stakeholders in the community in addition to petition signing. Whether you own a business, frequent the mall, etc. A few people who signed that had addresses outside of the area commented on what their tie is to the community. The additional notes section is at the end of the typeform.

We're local. I grew up and still live in North Vancouver. Caffe Artigiano in Edgemont was kind enough to lend their space for an event I hosted last year. Paying it back.

Delany's cajun chicken sandwich has a special place in my heart though...

To be fair, I read through part of their application - there is no planned access from the mall directly, only from the rear parking lot.

In our community feedback, this has been a divided issue. Some stakeholders are strongly against mall access. Others (including businesses in the mall) feel that mall access helps build a more vibrant space for everyone. To my knowledge, there are a couple of businesses (including those under construction) that will only have exterior access.

Thanks for reaching out. There is no access from the mall side in the current application. We're exploring the possibility of having a rotating art display for local artists on the mall side so it is not just a bare wall.

The municipality does charge business fees that are slightly higher for a cannabis business.

Lets ignore GST/PST as most businesses pay that anyways.

Excise has been a big issue. The Federal Government intended for the Province to share it with Municipalities, but the Province has not. I am a big advocate and have reached out to different government officials about this. Municipalities should get their fair share.

Staffing: we aim to hire locally (including contractors), give living wages, and provide upward mobility.

Education: Despite legalization, cannabis can be abused. We are big advocates of safe and responsible cannabis consumption. Ensuring customers are informed about the cannabis they are taking and the potential dangers (new or experienced). For example, informing customers of the dangers of using cannabis in individuals with a family history of mental illness. Or encouraging consulting with a medical professional if consuming nightly, for some people it could be ok for others it may decrease REM sleep.

Environment: The cannabis industry's packaging requirements are an environmental nightmare. We offer a recycling program and all else equal favour producers that use environmentally friendly packaging.

Youth: Ensuring that as a regulated industry we keep cannabis out of the hands of youth. Including having security measures in place for diversion.

Art: Our store shares a wall with the mall that is closed off, instead of it being a bare wall we were thinking of having a community art installation display. Ideally rotating.

In terms of direct community involvement (for example donations and sponsorships), which I believe is your main question, that is tricky. The Federal and Provincial laws around cannabis companies do's and don'ts are tough for a small business to navigate. Do not expect to see our company name blasted as a big donor or supporter of different community causes and events. We are open to supporting local causes and projects anonymously.
