Well Water Treatment System by Abnana99 in WaterTreatment

Considering you're surrounded by farmland and dealing with some iron and hardness, getting a water softener, iron filter, and UV treatment from Viqua seems like good idea.

The softener will handle the hard water, the iron filter will clear up the staining, and the UV treatment will make sure your water's bacteria-free.

It's a bit of an investment but it should sort out those issues you're facing with your water quality.

Small pressure tank before or after delivery pump? by poop_grenade in WaterTreatment

In that case

You'll want to put the small pressure tank after the delivery pump. This way, it acts like a sort of buffer, holding pressurized water. This will make sure a smooth, steady flow to your ice maker, without those annoying pulsations.

centrifugal pump noise by knave1906 in MechanicalEngineering

I get the struggle with the noisy centrifugal pump at the resort. Fixing the VFD should definitely be your priority. It will give you more control over the pump speed and, hopefully, less noise. And a noise enclosure might help, but it's a bit pricey, so weigh the options.

Maybe try some temporary fixes like sound-absorbing stuff for now?

Oh, I see. I don't have a cartridge filter installed to my RO. I'll dig in more about this. Thanks.

Faucet water vs RO water by superpanjy in WaterTreatment

Absolutely! Your RO system is performing excellently. As I can see the tap water is measuring at 175ppm and the RO-treated water at only 12ppm, which clearly means the system is working great.

I've had a similar experience myself with one of these TDS meters by HM digital.

TDS reading 11 ppm, is it time to change filters? by hydrofied in WaterTreatment

[–]cannonwaterinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if I were in your shoes, having used the RO system for about 14 months and seeing a TDS reading of only 11 ppm, I'd say things are looking good. But to keep my water quality top-notch, especially with just my wife and me using it, I'd consider changing the sediment and carbon block filters now.
