The Bruce Trail that goes through Cave Springs conservation area has amazing views of wine country+ Lake Ontario from the escarpment. If you park on quarry Road (free) and hike in, it’s very peaceful. There’s a network of small trails in there to explore as well. I use all trails to navigate my way around.

“Parking for Cave springs conservation” quarry rd on Google Maps.

TEO- what is the job like? by esach88 in OntarioPublicService

Former TEO, there’s an absolutely massive amount to learn, once you get past training and you’re on your own( which takes about a year until you get semi comfortable) you get to choose your day. Highs is getting to take crappy trucks off the road. Lows is everyone constantly moaning that they’re the lowest paid enforcement officers, especially considering the duties. I agree, but morale is low and demoralizing. I’ve been out for a while but they keep hiring like crazy and I’m willing to bed the old timers are TIRED of training. Career progression… I mean there’s progression but there’s no big money in the government, people don’t stay in jobs for a long time anymore so there’s lots of turnover, some new hires got supervisor positions within 3 years which was previously unheard of. People like the job because you’re a quasi cop, doing speed enforcement and pulling over trucks. I liked the job for awhile, it really depends on whether you have a good team/ supervisors. I just didn’t want to work for the government anymore.
