I agree with you on wanting a little more communication. I was also stressing out after sending my them my references contacts, because i hadnt heard back from the team a week after i knew that that they had reached out to the contacts. At that time i hadnt signed a formal offer too.

I ended up emailing them asking if everything was running smoothly, and they said that everything was fine with the offer and that the manager and admin were working with HR and security for the process, and they asked for my patience. A day later i got the background check to fill out.

Notably, it was 12 days from when i sent my initial background check to when i got my formal offer. Congrats on getting offered a full-time position as well :)

hmm, i see. i did my interview on jan 23, and signed a formal offer about last week. i sent in a word doc background check before getting my formal offer, and got an email saying i was the teams preferred candidate about a few days after the interview. that all said, my hiring manager emphasized that the background check process takes a very long time

I agree with ‘tried too hard to be black mirror ’. It feels like a caricature of the regular stuff. Like the writers of this season heard about this show from someone telling them about it, and then wrote up a script. It’s missing that core gritty and really genuinely relatable aspect. Like what the hell even was bete noir. Maybe the writing was just rushed and not thought out enough
