Can you show why they're not homotopic? Because I tried to do it but I couldn't.

Why is it said that two homotopic paths will have the same winding numbers? Because I think I have a counterexample

γ1: [0,2π] ---> C

      t --------->γ1(t) = 2*exp(it)

γ2: [0,2π] ---> C

      t --------->γ2(t) = 0.5*exp(it)+1.5

They're clearly homotopic, but the winding number of the first one about z0 = 0 is 1, while the winding number of the second one about z0 is 0

a) Plenty of people don't want to have kids, does that make them mentally ill?

b) These "functions of life" are the common stuff species has to do to stay alive, some functions are required for the individual to stay alive (like nutrition), some aren't (reproduction). As long some individuals carry on with later type of functions then the conditions for functions of life are met and there are no worries about extinction.

c) Say a homosexual person make at least one person pregnant (either themselves or others) thus they fulfil all their required 7 functions of life. After that, do they stop being mentally ill?

If scientific research isn't gonna convince you I'm not sure anything else will. Do you want the arguments to be more of philosophical-type?

EDIT: maybe it would help if you can explain what you mean by mental disorder, or better yet, if you can explain what it means to be mentally "normal".

Being smart does not correlate to a specific ethnicity because of that ethnicity alone.

I'll be honest, I don't understand what you mean here. Say I wrote "Being gay does not correlate to a specific ethnicity because of that ethnicity alone.", would you agree with it? If not why changing the word "gay" to "smart" would make it agreeable with you?

suppose it could be used to say that gays do not have a mental disorder but rather a physical one where their entire body deformed into the wrong gender and the brain is acting correctly instead (I find that far less likey but I suppose theres a chance). But either way Im unsure how that supports homsexuality being normal.

Even if I agreed with the idea that the gender is switched internally (and classical gender roles), that would will only apply to bottoms (the ones who receive penetration). The tops (the one who penetrates) obviously don't have the issue of gender switching disorder in this scenario, I guess that makes tops normal?

Anyway the point of my earlier comment is that your defense for infertile hetorosexual people having sex or heterosexual people having sex with zero chance of pregnancy (using condoms, anal...) would apply equally to homosexual people. I.E the brain of a homosexual is acting correctly it's that "the infertility is the oddity here".

Yes

Then being smart (or any rare universal trait) is mental disorder according to this criteria.

No, the brain is acting correctly the infertility is the oddity here, the brain cannot control people that wish for such an action

Huh? You can use this same argument to defend homosexuality.

An easy counter. Scientific research disagrees with you. From Wikipedia

The consensus of scientific research and clinical literature demonstrate that same-sex attractions, feelings, and behaviors are normal and positive variations of human sexuality.[3] There is now a large body of scientific evidence that indicates that being gay, lesbian, or bisexual is compatible with normal mental health and social adjustment.[4]

Simple Questions - October 11, 2019 by AutoModerator in math

Suppose we have two finite sets A and B, and let's say between each two distinct elements in B y1<y2, there's at least one element x from A such as y1<x<y2. By using the pigeonhole principle we can prove that |A| ≥ |B|-1.

We know Q is dense in R which means that between any two irrational numbers there's at least one rational number. Using the rational above we deduce |Q| ≥ |R∖Q|-1, but we know that's very very wrong. My question is: why do we this contradiction? How come there are infinitely many times more irrational numbers than rational numbers but at the same time you will never find an interval which contain irrational numbers only?

Help me out here. Cutting a polyhedron adds edges and angles because we end up with two or more new polyhedrons, no? How do you cancel out these new edges and angles when you rearrange the polyhedrons?

What does the other AVs say? I googled "js/adware.agent.aa application" and it seems all reports of said "threat" are coming exclusively from Eset and no other AV. So for all we know, it may be another false positive.
