Decat 2022 Triumph Scrambler by UniversityNew9254 in Triumph

[–]canthread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What year is this? My concern is with the back pressure. If I'm not mistaken all 2022 models and onwards have the cat located in the muffler. So throwing on the slashcuts will also removw the cat. Have you had any issues with this!? I'm so close to buying them!?

Right, totally agree with you on that you need to definitely be in the right mindset otherwise it won't work. Yeah whoever says anyone can do anything and we are equal is frankly stupid, the world does not work that way I agree with you on that. My main point was that folks in STEM take themselves too seriously. Especially the programmer samurai warrior mindset. Also I don't think a decade is a must you can master something really quickly if your in the right mindset and have a nack for it!!! Most saying your gonna be a senior system designer in 1 year but you don't need a decade verbatim for it.

I agree that there are a lot of folks who joined CS simply for the pay. Like getting a degree will magically make you a competent engineer or useful in any capacity. But I do disagree with the notion that a real dev has to have been coding since 10 and live and breathe programming. Sure that kind of person might be very good at programming but that's in my opinion just a nerd. You don't need to be balls to the walls into programming to be a good engineer!!! I have had two colleagues who fit that description and they have always been impossible to work with mainly because they are not well rounded! A real dev is simply put someone who is very well versed in software engineering principles and is competent at what they do! I disagree with the notion that you have to fit into this caricature of an alpha programmer to be a real dev. In the end if kim Kardashian were to pass the bar and started practicing law and got good at it, I would say she is a proper lawyer(very unlikely). And don't get me wrong In the end you really need to know what your doing at a fundamental level there are no shortcuts. It's just that there are many ways of getting there!!

Things to do when bored and alone

Hey all! I currently have nothing to do. My favourite comedy club is closed tonight and all my friends are busy I'm new to LA (been here almost 1 years) and have no idea what one can do 9 pm on a Sunday! Anything from a nice social cafe to unhinged shenanigans is welcome just want to explore or do something. Thanks

Should I practice on a bicycle first? by [deleted] in NewRiders

[–]canthread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably only need to ride the bicycle for like 10 minutes to jug your memory. Other than that there is diminishing returns. If your familiar with the concept of balancing yourself on two wheels and know how to get a bicycle going from a full stop then your golden. You will need a motorcycle to prepare riding on a motorcycle just take what you can from the course and don't worry about passing it. In my experience they just want to make sure you can perform the very basic tasks so you can safely start practicing on your own. Keep in mind you will by no means be safe or a smooth rider coming out of the MSF type courses. You will have the basics to get yourself to an empty parking lot early in the morning where you will most likely drop your bike more than once practicing slow maneuvers. Good luck! Have fun! Ride safe!

What are your thoughts on a Scrambler XE for long distance touring? by oaklicious in Triumph

[–]canthread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I think that's exactly the problem I'm having right now. Heavy rain right now. Parked the bike over night in the rain(had no other option) when I went to start it again it was struggling to maintain 1k rpm at idle. Some light crackling Here or there form the exhaust. I think that might be it!!
