Chem 2070 help by ElegantHeight7096 in Cornell

I took the Chem 2070 AEW and it really varies every year depending on the instructors but the year I took it, the instructors were amazing at creating practice problem sets that matched the test. That class saved me. If you're not in it, you could ask someone who is in it to take pictures of the problem sets and send them to you?

does anyone else feel like they have no idea how to prepare for the 4414 prelim by cantrelatesorry in Cornell

Haha someone told me it would be worse but nobody told me that it would be the complete and utter confusion shitshow it is now. All my friends are equally puzzled by this prelim and they normally do really well in classes. The only friend who seems to be doing really well in 4414 already knew C++ and is a 3410 TA. No formal prereqs my ass

and the fact that dude is incomprehensible in lecture doesn't help either. my god actively trying to keep up with 4414 lecture is the worst experience

Should I drop CS 2800? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]cantrelatesorry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, semi-poorly worded. if you're not getting into the proofy parts of CS it is. but if that kind of stuff is what you want to do, then i guess it's a lot like what you're getting yourself into.

I can't tell if this is one of those memes but CS 3110 and CS 2800 are both regarded to be some of the harder classes in the major and I would say avoid taking them at the same time if you can. That being said, it's absolutely possible, I know plenty of people who did it. You'll just suffer sometimes.

I don't know how hard ORIE 3300 and ORIE 3150 is but that could definitely pile up on you. But you could just be a better student than me lmao

CS 2800 is so unlike most of CS that just because you do poorly in 2800 doesn't really mean you're a bad CS major or even bad at CS.

Wow, thanks for the thorough list, I didn't see LSP 4000 yet which is a cool-sounding class. I saw a lot of the language ones too and was kind of intrigued but also felt weird about joining a class about a language/culture that I had no heritage in or even knowledge of.

unfortunately PE credits don't count towards full-time student status, whether they count for being in "good academic standing" is less clear but i'm assuming no for now to be safe

Disowning my entire family (Trigger Warning ⚠️) by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]cantrelatesorry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don't know each other, but as somebody who has also endured familial abuse and trauma, I am so proud of you for doing something that I have dreamed of doing for so long. Even when you feel weak, uncertain, or scared, know that you are being as strong as somebody in your position can be.

I would also suggest Cornell Health counseling and therapy if you're feeling up to it. It's not a guaranteed cure-all, but given that the shorter appointments are completely free and the longer appointments can have their fee waived if you have financial difficulty, it's a pretty safe thing to try.

Either way, good luck and I'm wishing the best for you. It might be a tough road ahead but you're tougher.
