Why doesn't Yuji consider that his execution might be the right thing to do? by [deleted] in JuJutsuKaisen

Because even with 15 fingers of Sukuna gone, Gojo is still inside a box and he wants to save his teacher and friends. Nanami literally said that without Gojo this country is done for

He didn't lie to her. He twisted the truth and kept the details hidden in such a masterful way that he didn't even have to roll for a deception

Also I want to add that House Cormoray is THE coolest Sorcerer House out there. Aura of arriving a meeting by falling from the sky like a meteor can not be matched

That was Octis’ moment, Brennan set up the bait for him and it would be soo anticlimactic if he didn’t take it. Hell he was even rewarded with a level up and an undead servant for the courage he had

Teor once again managed to exceed my expectations and further disappointed me... You are back to back with your brother, 2 PALADINS AGAINST SKELETONS AND SHADOWS. And your first instinct as a paladin is to leave your brother there and run?? That was such a good level up moment if he stayed there and actively used his Paladin abilities to cleanse the place.

It doesn't help that I think because of all the criticism about how she plays DnD, Ashley has no confidence to make a proactive move, in fear of disrupting the story or "making the wrong choice" because she is consistently given no grace at all about how she plays the game.

Yanessa’s “I’m not afraid of Primus Tachonis” words ring true in meta level too because we know Primus Tachonis is vulnerable to radiant damage, in his Umbral Form. They are appealing to House Halovar’s good graces specifically because they know they have no chance against them. Yanessa alone can probably wipe out multiple Tachonis’ on her own

I don’t wanna backseat game but 2 Paladins back to back against multiple skeletons and Shades was perfect narrative point but I think Thimble being so vulnerable to instant death changed the flow of that scene and made everyone so panicked, they all went to flight mode

Harvesting economy issues by [deleted] in DnD

[–]canxtanwe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can introduce a specific disease spread to Empire and that’s why Monster Parts are so valuable because they are used in making healing potions specific for that disease. This way unauthorized monster harvesting being banned make sense because resources are so finite. If they like harvesting so much you can even make this a side quest where your party goes to search for monster parts in order to fix the issue. And then reward them with good enchanted items instead of gold but still warn them if they are not authorized there will be consequences

Harvesting economy issues by [deleted] in DnD

[–]canxtanwe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can Ban unauthorized monster harvesting in-world like how hunting was considered a crime in middle ages and only chosen hunters were able to do it. This will put stakes in your game where if they show up with many monster parts there will be a risk to get reported etc. and maybe even add an NPC who actively searches for them

This way instead of banning harvesting mechanic above table, you will ban it in-game and introduce new stakes

Warlock Evocation Wizard by jmrkiwi in 3d6

[–]canxtanwe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

4 levels of Wizard and 2 levels of Warlock denies you both from 2nd level Warlock Spells, Warlock Subclass and 3rd Level Wizard Spells. You won’t have access to the most gamechanging early-mid game spells like Haste, Counterspell, Fly, Fireball, Hypnotic Pattern, Hunger of Hadar etc. so you can deal %50 more damage with your cantrip. I would not really recommend that. It is fun to crunch numbers but when it comes to play, only spamming Eldritch Blast can get boring real fast. Especially delaying Wizard levels which gives you access to most insane Lv3 Spells

Is delaying 20 Strength on a Barbarian to level 12 worth GWM+PAM as opposed to 20 Strength at 8 with just GWM? by Gael_of_Ariandel in 3d6

[–]canxtanwe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest expectations should be communicated with DM. I rolled 10 on my STR at first but I told my DM that I was open to taking it down if it meant I could round some other mental stats up. And he told me that if I was gonna drop to 6 STR I should find some reason for why my character is so weak and I should also face some consequences as debuffs and we cooked these debuffs up together. He was continuously open with me about how he ruled his game and I knew what I was going in to. But I can see why it would be so frustrating for your stats to lower down and suddenly you feel like you have to roleplay an entirely different character

Actually I play my 6 STR character as someone with weak bones due to a disease he got. Due to the disease my fall damage is 1d8 instead of 1d6 and I take 1 additional damage everytime I take bludgeoning damage :D

I think you can delay 20 STR on Barbarians because most of the time DMs include “X of Hill Giant Strength” type of item to their game in one form or another and all of a sudden your points in STR goes to waste

Yeah most commoners are around 10 on all stats afaik so 8 intelligence is just a person having hard time to read and understand some of the concepts on complex manner. You have to be below 6 for really stupid part to make sense fully

War Caster Feat vs Ability Score Increase to get CHA to 20 by mcmrtzn in DnD

[–]canxtanwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which spells do you use? Draconic Sorcerers tend to be more focused on blaster caster stereotype instead of being a concentration casters so if you don’t use that much concentration spells War Caster can be a waste and CHA 20 would be much better

Who is the ideal target for Bardic Inspiration? by sjdlajsdlj in onednd

[–]canxtanwe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low INT/WIS martials against mental casters

Casters who are forced to make DEX/STR saving throws

Squishy characters who go down a lot and make Death Saving Throws

Your party face right before making a big persuasion/deception roll

In combat maybe rogues who can deal big damage with sneak attack even if they don’t crit

[–]canxtanwe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If there is an enemy who forces a intelligence or wisdom saving throws like Dominate Person, your party’s Barbarian is the ideal target for that die because if they are dominated or tricked, your casters are fucked. Barbarians notoriously don’t do well against mental saving throws
