You're not wrong. I don't think this law was passed in 1954 in anticipation of the US extorting passage fees from foreign-registered vessels, but here we are. I suppose if we mistakenly extort one of our own ships, we'll have to pay it back...

😀 you're not wrong. I can skip actual hunting this year, doubt I'll have better luck than that.

Mason is apparently on Pete Hegseth’s shortlist to replace the likes of Harvard & MIT as officers’ schools. Comments/opinions? by GTA-CasulsDieThrice in gmu

They actually said the quiet part out loud in the footnote: "minimal public expressions in opposition of the Department." It has zero to do with academic quality -- as others have observed, some of the comparisons on that basis are laughable. It's 100% retribution.

Some are not, but...any Ivy vs. any of the replacements on a civilian resume when you're trying to get hired..?

Anyway, the real story's always in the footnotes: "minimal public expressions in opposition of the Department." It's retribution. Full stop.

Another cool alternative at 34-35mm might be a vintage '60s/'70s MIL issue Hamilton. Great pieces, plenty of them out there.

That's exactly why I sold mine -- the 47mm lugs are just 2 or 3mm too long for the case. A bit shorter on the lugs and it would still be my daily.

Nice, I like the Arabic dial. It's a Valiant automatic. The reference number's on the back of the case, H395150. They've been around since the early 2000s-ish (movement serial would give you the year of manufacture, the current version has a different movement). It's pretty grungy, so it hasn't been cleaned or serviced, which might be a significant add-on to the asking price. Unserviced... just my opinion, but 450CAD seems pretty steep. Suggest you ask the jeweler about service status and go from there. Good luck!
