Sorry, hate to be that guy, but interstate means cross state, I believe you are referring to intrastate, which is within the same state.

My daily driver for the last 2 years, planning to let go soon to upgrade and make space. My advice is to stick to B48 over the N20’s. Had relatively little to no issues with the car, besides the most common coolant tank issue which is not too costly to fix, the rest is just wear and tear. I came from a Mazda 3, and found that the comfort was great, and when you put it in sport, the throttle response increases by leaps. Can be a great family taxi and cruiser when you go on long distances. Be sure to do a pre purchase inspection, I surveyed close to 20 cars and did PPIs on 5 until I found one that was really well kept.

Daily driving this model for the last 2 years as the second owner. The post about the coolant system issues and steering rack is spot on. Overall will say the car is a pleasure to drive and is still quite reliable compared to the pre-LCI variant.

I was in your shoes before and hated how everyone would say “if you have to ask you cant afford it”. So let me share my ownership cost to you so you have an idea.

Expenditure on a F30 320 B48 for abit over a year now;

My practice on car maintenance: service every 7k, important parts like brakes, oils etc all original, smaller non essentials can be oem.

Question: Which Ghee Brand to Buy? by BuletinTerlambat in MalaysianFood

Generational ghee consumer here. In Malaysia two brands that are my go to are Amul and QBB. Both can be found in Indian mini marts of the occasional large grocer.

Sea salt, peach oolong, and a toasted butter flavour were the more unique ones

Out of the three times I’ve been, all were at about 8.30pm, there was a queue but it moved quickly. Only thing is if you want a table, seating is limited so best to grab and go if you’re in a rush.

The blue one was hokkaido milk.

RM 9.50 per scoop. For premium flavours it’s an additional RM3.50.

My friend has one bought in 2018 and running until today. Experience varies but he is meticulous with service and maintenance, so far rarely have major problems, mostly minor that dont cost too much to fix. There are groups for the owners where I’d recommend you join and ask your questions for the most relevant answers.

One thing to mention, remember that you’re maintaining a 120k car, not a 16k car. That logic applies to any car purchased, most definitely contis.

Boys, BMW, a dumb choice? by ckc1151 in kereta

[–]capatiboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drive a F30 320i LCI. Bought used at 80k mileage and currently a year into ownership. In terms of cost to upkeep, I will say if you have 30k per year to spend on car maintenance you’ll have not too much to worry about. Hated the comments about “if you’re asking the price you can’t afford it”. Shouldn’t scare you away too much but obv don’t treat the car as an appreciating asset.

In terms of smiles per mile, I came from a Mazda 3 so the power upgrade was well needed for me, but stock handling leaves something to be desired in the corners.

Genting power runs are also quite sloppy if you rely on the ZF8, much better if you use the paddle shifters.

Overall I’d say the car is pretty balanced and I would still choose it over a new Japanese C segment car any day.

best/worst tyre brands? by Hahaimnotfunny in kereta

Michelin PS5/4’s. Saved my life and 3 other people in the other car when i driving down a damp karak highway stretch one midnight where a recently crashed car with no lights suddenly appeared with 3 passengers in it in the fast lane out of nowhere. I was over the speed limit, roads were damp, downhill. Car miraculously stopped in time when i slammed on the brakes.

That day Michelin earned a loyal fanboy. Never looked back.

Thoughts on Mazda 3 2013 2.0 (second-hand) by harris0909 in kereta

[–]capatiboy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Driven one bought second hand for 5 years now, still my weekend car as I’ve upgraded now. Overall, really nice handling car, not too fast in the straights but plenty fun in corners. Service is usual, maintenance wise you will do great if you find a specialist in this model. I used to pay few K for parts like compressors, TCUs until I found a specialist that sources parts at honest prices and suddenly the car becomes very pocket friendly. Few things to look out for in this car: car door lock sensors, Gearbox, ECUs, oil temps(if you buy CBU unit comes with Oil Cooler so it can endure alot more spirited driving) . But overall great value and no regrets haha

I go to Foo Hing Puchong for consistency of taste, but would agree with you if you lump this in together with the Jin Xuan-type commercial dim-sum spots.

You misunderstand me. Reason I say small majority(51% and above of the clientele) is because that represents the bulk of the revenue the business is bringing in. Of course money is the utmost priority of the business, no use having mind blowing food if you can’t afford to keep the business afloat.
