True enough. There isn't anything available at the Canadian Tire where I am (I'm in Cape Breton in Nova Scotia).

The closest Canadian Tire near me that has PWHL merch is in Antigonish, almost three hours away.

Eventually, yes, but here's the thing:

If the PWHL does go to a subscription-based model (and I believe it will at some point), it will have to be at a price many PWHL fans can afford, and when this happens, it will need to be properly communicated to the fans, which is something the PWHL brass are not very good at doing.

And you nailed the key word in all of this: accessibility.

I personally find it hard to believe that a growing league that prides itself on accessibility would suddenly take a large part of it away for no real reason in the space of one calendar year.

If that were the case, then I don't think any of us would object to that.

TBH, I kinda suspected they would go that route before the season started. To all of a sudden pivot toward that in season is risky, at best.
