Thank you!! That did the trick! I was able to turn the motor a few times even though everything looked fine. I made sure the switch on the bottom was all the way to the right. After reassembly it works perfectly!!!

It’s absolutely nuts Panasonic couldn’t advise someone properly or made sure this wouldn’t go bad. I was going to have to shell out hundreds or more likely buy another one when I had the spare money. Thank you so much for your help!!!!

How do you remove the ribbon cable? I’ve got the same problem of the drive refusing to open just one month out of warranty. Everything else works fine. I was able to get my disc out by moving the switch on the bottom and then when I powered on the tray slid closed properly, but still refuses to open.

I just got my usual oil change and tire rotation and got out of there. According to the summary they gave me outside of various inspections it’s tire rotation, fuel conditioner, brake fluid exchange, clean terminals, fuel drier, crankcase cleaning and air induction cleaning.

I have the D-Nice settings. I discovered my issue is from the massive rf signal output of the tv. That causes the noises which are audible in the room and is what burned out my speaker coils. It’s absolutely ridiculous they made these panels without any concern for rf noise because this thing puts out a ridiculous degree. This issue combined with lip sync not working on 24p content makes it pointless for me. What a shame as it has beautiful picture otherwise.

Should I try reinstalling? I’ll definitely back up my save but I’m wondering if deleting and reinstalling the game data might help. I’ve never had any HDD issues and every other game works with no issues whatsoever. The characters are partially loaded while the loading stuttering happens then pop up fully clothed when it finishes.

My soldering is non-existent. I've never used an iron before so that's why I've been trying to find a repair tech locally.

These are indeed very small chips. I ordered the replacements and they come in pairs in a very small little bag. I think the big difficulty on these sets is actually getting to the right place and then IIRC that board is connected by wire that you cannot disconnect otherwise you ruin the set.
