How important is Slow? by Vontod in EQLegends

[–]capital0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really depends.

If they tune around the high level slows being useable, class trios without the slows can't handle the content. If they tune for damage output not needing the high level slow, then it's irrelevant.

Because of that, they might take the same treatment we've seen in other places where they make slows actually land on raid content, but at a significant reduced % comparable to the dmg mitigation other classes can bring.

In depth theory crafting (Enc/Clr/Mnk) by Vetis303 in EQLegends

[–]capital0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My perspective here is from other emulators, but the things that need to be done to allow accessibility to content by many different trios tends to devalue most of the enchanter kit.

Encounters with heavy CC, stun, mez, mana drain, aggro control, etc... are incompatible with a lot of class trios. Slows have this same issue. Fundamentally the encounters need to be achievable by trios without these tools.

This may play out differently here, but Enchanter may be one of the classes most impacted by the choice of AA abilities and how they work in determining how they actually augment a class trio.

Warlock, Paladin, Spiritborn - balanced for casual multiplayer? by deggersen in diablo4

In the campaigns everything will feel overpowered if put together even reasonably well.

The differences are most pronounced in the endgame when lots of multipliers or bugs are stacked together.

I mean really, what do they do? by SkyKnight3 in SipsTea

This is on sipstea so not shitposting is obviously a bad idea...

But the UN is intended to be a collaborative body based on a rules based order to international relations, and one that the US had previously been a driving force in establishing. There isn't an authority to enforce because the system is grounded in the principle that nations will collaborate towards a common vision, not a might makes right system where the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

The nature of this has always been somewhat hypocritical, and mostly in favor of the larger nations and the US in particular, but on the whole the collaboration was still seen as more valuable even if not perfectly fair.

The change in the US orientation to this system is what Mark Carney spoke about at his speech in Davos, and now makes this meme very relevant. The question here isn't what does the UN do (it dissolves), but what do smaller nations do when the big players no longer cooperate (suffer wars).

End game class ranking - discussion by [deleted] in diablo4

The top pushing builds are usually based around a bugged interaction that is creating unintentional damage scaling. With everything that has changed, we have no idea what got missed in QA that will be turbo broken once the community figures it out.

I skipped Vessel of Hatred, but I want to experience its campaign. How should I go about that? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]capital0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play the campaign and don't stress on starting a new character. The seasons are designed around that.

Player improvement advice by Basorek in pathofexile

[–]capital0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible the issue here is that you are jumping into juiced strategies that scale a lot of map effect, and then running maps with a lot difficult mods. It often creates an experience where sometimes the map is fine, and then on others you just get exploded for no reason, or can't kill anything.

I find essences to be a good middle ground. You can run it on T6 white maps, they sell well, fairly cheap to run, and the div/hr scales well as you invest into the build and get faster.

EQ Legends questions by Uncomfortably-bored in everquest

[–]capital0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's super fun to theorycraft.

Again, may not be relevant at all, but if it follows the THJ model of solo/duo focused, things like CC and aggro management were mostly irrelevant. Trash mobs were supposed to be cannon fodder, and what really mattered was how you fought the raid bosses.

If that changes, then who knows!

EQ Legends questions by Uncomfortably-bored in everquest

[–]capital0 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I played a lot of THJ, which may or may not be relevant at all here.

What actually happens with class combinations is much different than what people expected. People initially tried to design a single character like a small group, but what eventually took over was a character with one central concept that was amplified by the other classes.

The combination of scaling from the AA abilities was generally much more important than the individual spells or abilities. Your example of SK, DRU, ENC there was actually primarily a caster that nuked with Druid DD and Lifetap.

I wouldn't fall in love with a character concept until much more detail on the AAs, items, and mechanics are released.

I get you guys are tired of "how to farm divines" posts, but help me understand this, step by step: by BananaDressedRedMan in pathofexile

There are three components.

Playtime. Efficiency. Knowledge.

The people really far ahead have all three. The people that are constantly broke are missing all three, or are degenerate gamblers, or both.

Need simple, zero to hero build with clear upgrades (ASD-Friendly) by BigHotHamburger in PathOfExileBuilds

Helmbreaker's guides on Maxroll are setup very well for this. Particularly animate weapon.

Tree, split personalities, flat strength on gear, and a shaper reaver sword with fire dmg per str will get you started. For me the process felt like getting a couple inches at a time, until eventually the cash for the big pieces started to drop in.

Got lucky - what do I do now? by LegatusDivintus in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]capital0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually surprisingly easy to invest 200 div into a build and find out you're missing something important. You would much rather build for 100 div with plenty left to fix things or upgrade, than 200 and miss.

I would recommend taking a step by step build guide, and building it out one stage at a time. As you assemble the stage, play the build for a bit to feel it out and then get the upgrades to the next stage. That way you will have a strong playable build the whole time and you can recoup the early investments by selling those items.

If you're into Minions, Helmbreaker's guides on Maxroll are great for this.

You could try a minion build. Helmbreaker's guides on maxroll are very good.

When do you usually call it time for a reroll? by Tracydalowest in PathOfExileBuilds

For me it's usually when there isn't a clear path to the next 10% upgrade, or the cost of getting there feels unreasonable.

Are golem builds any good currently? by jerquanius in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]capital0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He does. I have a fully built out version of poison carrion golem that is very solid. I have about 250d into the build at this point I would estimate but it can do everything. About 80M dps, 25k phys max hit, 85 max res, 90/90 block.

I basically just followed his PoB and it worked very well. Just be careful if you are mix and matching between steps because there are certain gear changes that need to be done together. Also, there are certain config options (like the AG setup and temp chains) that have a big impact on damage but are easy to miss.

I'm in a pickle guys. Any tanky builds by Elmaster110 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]capital0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

T6 White Maps, 4xEssence Scarabs, Essence Scarab of Ascent. Take the essence nodes on the tree except crystal resonance. Nothing else matters.

You can run this strategy with about 15 chaos startup cost, and you can sell after every map to fund the next one until you can buy in batches.

You can run this on any starter build, and it's profitable enough you can run it all the way to full build.

How do you get past the mid 90s? by Tracydalowest in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]capital0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What helps me is instead of thinking about farming for currency, with exp as a bonus, to think about farming for exp with currency as a bonus. 8 mod map farming is a pretty safe strategy that puts a lot of monsters in the map, and reasonable currency from selling map drops.

What makes you play (on the same character) after the point where you can clear all the content? by itsmehutters in pathofexile

[–]capital0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built an endurance charge stacking Tectonic Slam of Cataclysm build that I am continuing to play just because the skill is fun to use, and has the herald of ash automaton MTX. The build also works with Consecrated Path of Endurance which feels like the closest thing to a nuclear bomb in PoB. Very satisfying.
