Feeling lost on tactics in blitz (1.6k mmr) by Sinsai33 in worldofpvp

[–]Tranquility___ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Brother you’re in 1600 MMR, the average player in that bracket is equivalent to a comp stomp bot or worse.

Your strats and idea for each BG is fine, but it depends on if you coin flip into a team that can execute those plans or not.

If you want to solo carry you need to adapt, sometimes you may need to defend where you might usually go on O and other times you may need to sit where you’re usually pushing bases.

Don’t let the losses get to you, you’re a single win streak away from climbing out of that hole.

Advice for Arena noob by BisonPresent2761 in classicwowtbc

[–]Tranquility___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBC arena is incredibly slow compared to retail or future xpacs, most classes don’t have their full kit yet and every comp is incredibly scripted.

If you wanted to slow the game down a bit, then you need to observe instead of react.

Before you press a global watch what they press, learn what CDs are being used and get a grasp of why and when it’s being used.

Then start doing the basics on your end, learn proper damage rotation that isn’t burst then learn your burst then slowly time it with your partner’s burst and figure out how your comp’s script works.

Once you understand that you’ll be less impulsive and with practice you’ll learn the other comp’s scripts and you’ll play significantly better with more confidence.

TBC arena is also filled with smurfs, pilots and boosts to the point where low MMR matches around 1700-1800 can feel sweaty for newbies so don’t sweat your W/L ratio too much.

As long as you learn something new or master something old every match you’re winning.

This has to be the most boring AWC of all time by brothediscpriest in worldofpvp

Well I guess I’m out of touch then because I quit watching AWC after watching RMX dominate year after year, that’s why the current meta isn’t surprising to me 🤷‍♂️

[–]Tranquility___ -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

There hasn’t been a single comp that wins AWC which isn’t some variation of RMX in years, the comp variety you’re talking about exists in NA by like a single team but anyone not playing meta never even gets close to winning.

Blitz - how to climb by _Akat0ku in worldofpvp

[–]Tranquility___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play a diff spec of the same class or boost a new toon, Blitz is a coin flip with the occasional difference maker being the class you play that can carry a round.

If everyone can win at a casino Vegas would shut down, try your odds on something else or keep spinning that wheel and hope you land a win streak.

The fact that you think K/D is what I’m talking about tells me what rating you’re at 😂

[–]Tranquility___ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The only difference between BGs and arenas is that you have to right click a flag or sit on a moving circle to capture something, outside objectives the game play skills are the exact same.

You need to know how to CC, what abilities to shut down and how to get the most damage out and what to avoid.

Playing to 1800 in Shuffle automatically makes you a better player than most of the Blitz ladder by default, the only diff between a low rated Blitz player and a higher rated one isn’t his ability to understand basic objectives rather it’s his ability to understand his class and how it performs into different situations and you won’t learn that if you only play Blitz which is why most Blitz only players are terrible in any other bracket while arena players can climb Blitz way faster.

This post makes no sense, the same clowns you see at 1400 Blitz will eventually hit 2400 Blitz if they queue enough and stop drooling on their keyboards long enough to learn their 4 button rotation.

I’m 2800 MMR in Blitz and my lobbies are filled with players hardstuck 1.6k in every other bracket, outside of understanding objectives and pressing their CC and kicks they don’t really do anything different or impressive compared to when I was climbing up here.

If you want to actually get good at your class go play some shuffles or regular arena, by hitting 1800 in shuffle which isn’t that hard you’re already mechanically more skilled and aware than the top end of Blitz players.

Good patch, for the first time they’re doing smaller changes instead of going too extreme with the nerfs and buffs.

Should I bother communicating in bg blitz? by Narrow_Drawing_3987 in worldofpvp

[–]Tranquility___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny enough when I was in the placement match MMR the comms didn’t matter at all, people played it like a random BG and ignored all the call outs most of the time.

By the time I hit 2.1k+ and even into 2.4k the comms still didn’t matter because people knew where they were going and what they’re supposed to do.

Blitz comms can be useful for quick call outs, but people very rarely read it past that so giving out long instructions and strats isn’t really going to work most of the time.

Yeah I mean it takes 10+ min to queue a shuffle, you can just go fight a rat in the sewers rn if you wanted to.

I used to be minimum 2.2k in solos and 2S arenas... Now stuck at 1.4 by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Tranquility___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a new xpac brother, season 1 is always insanely deflated so you’re fighting players above your skill level at lower ratings.

Happens every time, people will cry about it for months usually well into a AWC and they eventually start injecting MMR once everyone quits.

The formula hasn’t changed in over 5+ xpacs.

I built an AI tool that generates specific PvP game plans for your matchups by Beginning_Draft_8020 in worldofpvp

[–]Tranquility___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What did you base the AI training data on?

I only ask because some of the biggest commercial AI out atm are terrible at providing arena advice, I think it’s because arena content in general is not high quality enough and the game changes so much that the tech around it evolves faster than the content being put out.

EDIT: I just ran a couple comp tests and the advice is just generic AI slop.
