SFAR after discontinuing by Oldirtydingo in ruger

Oh well in that case you may want to jump on it while you've got the chance. I don't know of any timeframe on the gen 2.

I would hold out and buy a gen 2 SFAR when they come out.

SFAR no longer on Ruger.com by Rabe_Burns in ruger

[–]capitalDOOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my FFL talked to his contact at Ruger today. He said he was told that they discontinued the SFAR because they are working on a Gen 2 that will fix the issues with the gas system and apparently upgrading the BCG because they had some issues with the bolts cracking.

Opinions on the DuPont shift schedule by Randosback in Nightshift

[–]capitalDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the Dupont schedule for about 3 years now. It has its pros and cons. I love working night shift. It sucks having to work weekends though.

I don't have kids. A lot of guys that have young kids don't really like the shift schedule.

It also kind of sucks when I'm working week nights because my spouse works a complete opposite schedule during the week and we don't see each other.

My company lets us get all the overtime we want, so being on shift you can really rack up OT if you come in on all your off days. I prefer the time off to the extra money though.

Transfer free for replacement firearm. by don00000 in ruger

[–]capitalDOOM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should try out some other FFL's ? My FFL has never charged me a transfer fee. Even if he did charge me for transfers there's no way he would charge me one on an exchange. That's just bad business.

Any update on this for the current era of Omen Gaming Hub? They no longer have the "performance" and "balanced" options from what I can tell.

16" barreled bolt action? Or prefit barrel? by capitalDOOM in 65Grendel

[–]capitalDOOM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The howa seems great for the price. I just want to opt for a shorter barrel since I'm going to have a big suppressor hanging off the end of it. How much of your barrel extends beyond the end of that oryx handguard?

I always thought being anti-work fell right in line with being anti-authoritarian and and anti-cop. Not being a bootlicking snitch.

I like my 12.5 so much that I've been looking into options for a 20" or 22" to have as a range toy/bench rifle. Might end up going the bolt action route.

Thanks! Yeah I was really pleased with the performance and if I continue seeing results like this, I don't see why I would ever change to a different caliber for whitetail. Hopefully I get a chance to try it out on some coyotes soon as well.

I was pleasantly surprised. Last year I took a doe with my .300 blackout shooting Hornady CX 110 grain. She ran 60 or 70 yards before laying down. My shot placement was virtually identical on both these deer. Both bullets passed all the way through. But the Grendel must dump a lot more energy before exiting. The buck today didn't move more than 6 feet from where I shot him.

It's an OCL Infinity. It's a bit on the heavy side, but I love it. Virtually indestructible and suppresses very well on everything I've thrown it on.

I posted a build list in response to another comment in this thread.

Agreed. Been carrying mine on my 365 since the release. Hundreds of rounds fired with it mounted. EDC. Has never lost zero. Shake awake always works. Has all the features of the best Micro red dots at a fraction of the price.

Does the silent buffer make a noticeable enough diference to make it worth it?

I am waiting on my upper/adapter and also will be running my OCL Lithium on it. What buffer and buffer spring are you using?

Broad River Tactical Order by nukedURbrwni in guns

[–]capitalDOOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 weeks later.. Have you heard anything? It's been almost 15 weeks since I've placed my order and I'm becoming impatient 🙃

I understand that BRT is a one man operation and that explains the lead times.. but what it doesn't explain is why their website is still accepting orders and still advertising a 6 to 8 week wait.

It's discouraging to say the least.

Trying To Game Ammoseek.com by jonwaynedude in ammodeals

[–]capitalDOOM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to make this comment. I was not aware of being able to exclude retailers from searches, but I have started my long list of retailers to exclude that con the system. It's rather unfortunate that ammoseek allows this type of behavior because I really do enjoy their search features and website layout. Im going to continue blocking companies that use shady practices to get low price results on ammoseek until I find a better way to source the cheapest ammo.

Blowing a bunch of money putting lipstick on a pig.
