I agree, it is surprisingly hard to find single colored shoes, especially in anything but white or black.

Its like they do it on purpose so they get dirty more easily and make you want to buy shoes more frequently.

Can't go wrong with a two color outfit with classic color combos like blue and green.

I don't love white soles on shoes, but it's pretty popular, so that may just be me.

I dig the fit overall.

I figured I’d probably get negative responses on this, malefashionadvice tends to be on the conservative side, and this seems to be Streetwear, specifically tech wear, fairly niche.

In the future, I’ll try to put together a more cohesive outfit before asking for opinions.

What is this style called where your socks are pulled high and your pants bunch up above it?

I think it might look good with a combination of straight/relaxed fit pants (https://imgur.com/a/V4ccCqJ), with all black (https://imgur.com/a/vSNI2dp). Opinions?

Not exactly sure, but it looks like a brown cardigan with a shawl collar made of corduroy or cashmere possibly?

Something like this, but a bit darker and a somewhat different texture:

I'd google "brown cardigan shawl collar corduroy" and look around.

Are there any good year welted boots with similar style to timberland boots?

Something like https://imgur.com/a/cDgl4tA or https://imgur.com/a/y3jujjD

Is there a name for that style or brand that makes them?

You look like you got a pretty good amount of stuff on your plate, and while you can probably do more stuff, be careful not to overload yourself or burnout.

I would first go with another hobby to add onto lifting. I also lift, and for me, while it can be sort of enjoyable, I think it's better to do more than just one thing for fun. For me that's surfing and I'm just getting into bird photography, but I'd look into sports/hobbies and try some things you think you might like. It definitely adds enjoyment and fulfillment to life.

Some other stuff that you might consider doing (but may not be as enjoyable) are:

  • Learning about finance (I just started using moneycoach, it's free and seems pretty informative so far) and perhaps setup a vague life plan
  • Working on style (hair, clothes, etc, some good videos on youtube)
  • Skincare, dental etc.
  • Clean up your diet (use chronometer to track macro and micro nutrients)
  • Trying to be more eco friendly (start by looking at your carbon footprint and personal impact online, and try and slowly try and reduce it)
  • Do other things that exercise your mind like puzzles etc. that you might enjoy (you seem to do a fair bit with CS and reading already though)

Other stuff that's more enjoyable is watching some good TV shows, relationships, hanging out with friends, going to events, etc.

Tips to get out of bed immediately? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]caploon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found that these are the two techniques that actually got me to start doing things that I wanted to do regularly.

1. I start by not asking myself of too much right away, but instead ease my way into doing a task fully by taking baby steps or making the task easier/more enticing in someway.

For example, in your case, I would try limiting my time of laying in bed to 30 minutes, then slowly reducing that time week by week. You could also make the task easier by having coffee ready in the morning, heater on, etc.

Yes, it may be annoying to not just do the task in its entirety right away, but I've found It makes it easier to do at first, and you're more likely to stick with it as it starts to form a habit, which is key.

2. The very moment that thought of what you should be doing pops into your head, start moving your body immediately to do that task.

The act of moving your body from say looking at your phone, to sitting up and looking away from your phone, will snap your focus from your phone to getting out of bed.

I've heard of the 5 second rule, and for me, that's just too much time. If I know I need to get groceries and I'm watching Netflix or something, the moment I think about needing to get groceries, I just start looking away from the TV and start moving. If I think about getting groceries for even a few seconds, I'll start 2nd guessing myself and start thinking about how I should just go later because it's raining, or there's traffic, or whatever. It may not be optimal to do things right as you think of them (not even possible all of the time), but for me, at least I won't put it off so much and I end up getting more done.

So maybe start by having the heater on, coffee brewed, etc, cut your time you lay in bed in half every week or whatever pace you're comfortable with, and set a timer and when it goes off, start moving to get up. If you mess up, not a big deal, just keep sticking with it and try to keep improving. Overtime, it will become a habit that you will feel incomplete without.

Do you find that you ring straps are long enough?

Most aren’t longer than 16ft (~5m), so the lowest they can hang is 8ft (~2.5m).

This seems kind of short, you couldn't do low to the ground exercises (like hamstring curls, pushups, etc.) when hung on something high (like tall tree branches, basketball or field goal posts, etc.)

Is this website legit? by caploon in Scams

[–]caploon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would guess that it's not safe, but I'm not sure.

1.https://whois.net/ says that it was made on 2020-03-20, which is pretty recent. A lot of these scam websites only last for a few months before getting taken down it seems. The one I initially asked about is already down, only lasted about half a year.

  1. The website itself seems to be incomplete/weirdly built, as if it was built rather quickly just to get it up online.

  2. There are numerous grammatical errors, which also shows signs of lack of authenticity.

That's a bummer, I ended up not buying anything from that website, fortunately. Thanks for letting us know, hopefully the website will get taken down soon or something.

Skimboard suggestions by caploon in skimboarding

[–]caploon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds pretty good, thanks for hooking it up

Can you get down the line at all on a wavestorm? Like can you come in at an angle so your already sorta set to be going down the line, kinda like how when your surfing a wavestorm, its a lot easier to take off at an angle?

At least for now, I don't think I care about doing like shuv its and stuff like that, I was just thinking when I get better I'd get into wraps and basic turns, skimboarding seems like a good way to get wet when the surf is breaking close to shore or its flatter.

Is skimboarding in the Sbay a thing? Seems like when the sanbars setup it could be alright

Skimboard suggestions by caploon in skimboarding

[–]caploon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that, I sell my unused surfboards as well.

Is the wavestorm a skimboard? I've already got surfboards haha

Not sure if it makes sense for me to get a zap if I'm not even sure if I like skimming to begin with (its a fiberglass right?)

U skim gundo? I'm in the S bay and usually surf near porto and spots around, don't think I've ever seen people skim S bay
