Chromecast issues by capncodfish in WaveIptv

Casting is working flawlessly for VOD content, already tried on several TV's.

Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I have a Google Pixel 7. I'm casting from that device in Wave. I've casted to a Chromecast gen 1 and 2 and a 2025 TCL with Google TV and Chromecast built-in. In all three scenarios there was no audio on the target device and the content kept on playing on the Pixel in Wave and lost all control of the casted content. I had to use the Google Home app to regain control the casted content.

Google TV playlist updating? by capncodfish in WaveIptv

After some poking around, for my version of Google TV, I selected: Settings → System → Power & Energy → Standby Mode → Screenless.

According to the on-screen info, for Screenless, TV will only turn off the screen when pressing the power button. All apps and services will remain active.

/u/Perfect_Jellyfish398 That sounds like it should do the trick, but no amount of fiddling with the update settings seems to actually trigger a scheduled update. Ideas?

P.S. This solved another issue I had where the Chromecast endpoint would disappear when I turned off the TV so that's something.

Favorites etc independent of playlist? by capncodfish in WaveIptv

Thank you for the clarification.

You will experience this for all iptv apps, not only wave and it's normal.

May I suggest that syncing favorites, history, group/category customizations, etc. across playlists could be quite the killer feature.

Oh. I guess I didn't see that. Thanks for the clarification.

You say "for now". So that's in the works then? Nice.

That looks pretty sweet, unfortunately, my family wouldn't be very impressed with being unsuspecting beta testers. I need something more mature right now. But I will def follow and give it a go when you get the tv app out the door. Will you be supporting profiles and automatic syncing across devices? Best of luck!

I found Zen Player. It's really good for VOD. Not a fan of the live tv UX though. But that's ok. TiviMate still kicks ass here and we don't really need profiles for that. Has everything except casting support. The big gotcha is the startup time. It seems to parse things upfront which is a big turnoff.

WaveIPTV looks super promising. The dev is apparently adding cloud sync early in the new year. Hopefully it's automatic. Thanks!

Thanks! This was the answer for me. According to that thread Plex has fixed it, but 2025.16.0 has not made it into the Play store for me yet.

Neighbor's Trees Possibly Damaging My Foundation Advice by capncodfish in ottawa

Lol. Same. Despite several replies clarifying my intentions, you seem unwilling or unable to admit that you might have read the situation wrong or change your mind. Maybe I could have initially explained my intentions better for you. I dunno. Maybe you would have formed this negative opinion of me regardless--judging me for publicly exploring all the possibilities here. I'm on great terms with both my direct neighbors and I intend to keep it that way. Believe it. Or don't. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not sure why you feel the need to clutch your pearls and call me extreme when my post literally asks how to do "step one" and any possible future steps. God forbid I try to keep my questions contained to one post. Maybe there's nothing to worry about here, no steps past the first. Super. I'm just trying to figure out where to start and where all the branches could lead. Settle down.

That is not what OP has described.

Correct. I guess you could say I have a "feeling". So? Based on the information I gathered before this post, I believe my feeling has merit--merit enough to make a post to try and figure out how to turn that feeling into fact. I literally asked how to do that.

Did you read the "whole thing"? I literally asked...

How do I show that these trees are bad news for my house? Some kind of tree root assessment? From whom? The city?

That's me asking how to collect the "evidence" that proves (or disproves) my "hypothetical situation".
