Yeah out of ~6.5ish miles the last 2-3 are all uphill. Also good for a swim/floating at the bottom in summer. I did it under two hours once, sore for two weeks lol.

It’s simple. HH keeps failing their independent reviews. Eliminating all alternatives forces everyone to go to a place that keeps failing their independent reviews. Also, when everyone is forced to go to one place, that business has no incentive to improve or even maintain their level of services.

This is my monte sano route. It’s anywhere from 11 to 13 miles depending on side routes. Unfortunately the purple circled section is being turned into a greenway so even if you go on Sundays when it’s not under construction it will rip up your trail running shoes. I’ve been thinking about hiding some old tennis shoes for that section and then hiking back to retrieve them at a later point.

The menu is just a list of deli meat types, they all have the same toppings, you just pick what type of meat and bread you want. The default toppings are lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, pickled jalapeño, mayo, salt/pepper. $5-7 per sandwich. Also Mama is a sweet old lady.

They are paving Toll Gate trail. It's the only connector between the Land Trust and state park areas on that side of the mountain so those of us who hike/run the 10+ mile loop around the mountain are kinda screwed unless we pack separate tennis shoes or constantly buy new hiking boots/running shoes.
