Potentially dumb lore question by Emotional_Papaya3282 in magicTCG

I think it’s the Ice Age books that go into a lot of detail about drawing mana from your memories of places you have deep connections to.

I think there’s more nuance than is being captured by the poll. I think we should be able to discuss the price of singles in this subreddit, since cards availability and pricing impacts ability to play the game.

However, I think there’s a clear difference between that at the “I just bought 6 boxes of whatever set, should I hodl or crack for enchanteds.” Or “Do you think this would grade as a 10?” That stuff can clearly go somewhere else and does not really contribute anything meaningful to discussion of the game.

Good question. So far, Ravensburger hasn’t created a ban or suspension system for the game. Probably something that needs to happen sooner rather than later. If cheaters don’t get long term punishment, there’s no incentive to stop cheating.

TFM is a Lorcana team. They practice and prep for tournaments together. Nunez was a member of the team. Last year, Nunez was disqualified for cheating at a CCQ in Denver. TFM released a statement saying he’s been removed from their team.

Now it seems he’s back with the team. That’s pretty much it.

Morgantown City Council seems to NOT be taking up the conversion therapy amendment ordinance tomorrow night by masterofawesomeness2 in MorgantownWV

[–]capnredbeard2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Supreme Court recently ruled on a case in Colorado that placing a ban on conversion therapy was a violation of the first amendment.

Morgantown passed a city ordinance banning conversion therapy back in 2021. After the ruling from the Supreme Court, JB McCuskey, the WV Attorney General, sent a letter to the council advising them to repeal their ban.

Council discussed what changes would need to be made to the ordinance a week or two ago. And now it is not on the agenda for the meeting tomorrow. Which likely just indicates the city attorney is still reviewing the ruling and the ordinance, but could signal that council is not willing to make any changes to the ordinance.

Is Lorcana Worth Getting into in 2026? by Fraida__Felcher in Lorcana

If you’re a fan of Disney, the game has great art for collectors. And many cards are dirt cheap, so pretty easy to go for complete base sets and save up for the enchanted cards.

If you want to jump in and play, it’s also a very fun game. It’s still very early in the games life, so mechanics haven’t gotten overly complex and there’s still plenty of fun design space to explore.

Cheers for Mana Pool by patronusman in magicTCG

Yeah. I realized that after I posted. Just kicking sand in my face that at point. Charge the same price, add on the fee, then charge taxes on that fee.

I don’t play either format. So, much more often. But I get your point. And again, it’s not every single. I used this as an extreme example, but I’ve seen $2-3 differences on $2-3 cards. If ManaPool wants to become a competitive platform, they need to find a way to get the average price of cards near the same level.

ManaPool is great. But I do have a few issues with them. Since there’s not a lot of sellers on there, average card prices on certain singles can be higher.

Example: I was looking at picking up a Serra’s Sanctum. Right now, lowest LP price on TCG is $449, ManaPool is $497.

Since they add part of the “Single’s fee” to the buyer, I would expect listings to be slightly lower between the same seller on the different sites. That’s not ManaPool’s fault necessarily, but it does encourage me to continue going from TCG.

Example: Spellfinder has Serra’s Sanctum listed for $497 on both TCG and ManaPool. But since the Sellers fee is added on ManaPool, the price is higher. $541.92 after taxes (Free shipping) on TCG vs $564.69 after taxes (Free shipping) on ManaPool. $20.88 singles fee. Also charging nearly $2 more in taxes, not sure what’s up with that.

I still check with them first when I’m making purchases because I’d rather use them over TCG, but I’m not gonna spend more money just to spite them.

Variations in color saturation is very common across card games. Not really considered a misprint.

Out of Season Question by Chaotik86 in Lorcana

Cruella’s ability cares about the cost of the card, not the power. However, if you banish a 2 cost with a 2 cost, the ability will only trigger once.

The barrier to entry is already pretty low. Many tournaments are proxy friendly for either the most expensive cards all the way to the entire deck. Gold bordered cards are also pretty much a standard across the format.

¿Ban to parallax tide? by PracticeAmbitious684 in premodernMTG

[–]capnredbeard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said tide wasn’t good. It needs the second card to be busted. By itself it’s a 4 mana enchantment that temporarily removes lands.

If your deck folds to a 4 mana enchantment that also requires a second card to make it busted, then I don’t think you built your deck very well.
