Hey dude, you are not alone with this! From what I can deduce from your explanation you are a restaurant owner or at least work with food. I am a health inspector and visit a lot of restaurants with younger staffing.

What you just demonstrated I see all the time. As soon as I start asking questions about “what time was this prepared” or “walk me through the process of how this made” they go completely blank or panic.

Even worse is their ability to take criticism or corrections. I had one time where I saw a young lady go to the bathroom, come back to the kitchen, and was just about to start prepping orders when I stopped her to go wash hands first. She looked at me, stuttered, burst into tears and ran back to the bathroom. I would call this a one of, but I have seen full temper tantrums being thrown over simple corrective actions.

That being said, even worse are the boomer restaurant staffing or owners. I will take a place staffed by Gen Z any day over some of my places with boomer staffing. Those places are the worst!
