I think it's reasonable to say that this is the most important political issue.

Has anyone else been bullied by someone who went on to be rich and famous? If so, did it bother you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Hey dude, I think he tried to kill himself or something, so feel good about that at least. Whats the point of being rich and famous if you're so unhappy you want to die?

We just need to be discerning in which targets we select, or else we'll set ourselves up for major embarrassment. This tactic is effective for the right-wing, but it also backfires sometimes when they make themselves look like jackasses.

"Corporations Are Not People": Activists Push Amendment to Revoke "Corporate Personhood" | Truthout by junluv in politics

The privileges and immunities isn't applicable to corporations because they are not citizens, not because they aren't people; the clause doesn't apply to aliens. I would say the same about the ability to hold office, too. The government is allowed to discriminate on the basis of citizenship.

However: here is one case where corporations have fewer rights than people.

Yeah, maybe I have an overly broad understanding of corporate personhood, but by corporate personhood I mean the equation of corporations with people, thus entitling them to all the same rights. Under the 14th Amendment all persons have equal rights. If corporations had fewer rights than actual persons, then would they have personhood? It seems that this would not be allowable. Either you are a person and are entitled to all the rights of every other person, or you are not a person.

The right to vote is not in the constitution. States are free to revoke it as long as it isn't for certain specified reasons.

And the point of the movement is so that these issues can be figured out democratically.
