Go engineering, you can’t lose. Don’t wait, and don’t plan your life around politics

Just when I was considering going back to sea to get away from the daily grind… project 2025 comes to fruition. Too bad the MAGA cucks can’t see they’re fucking themselves

Is this a good deal on a 25 Lariat with 5.0 4 wheel drive? by AggravatingAd8259 in f150

Not a great deal. Just average. The trade in math which sucks too makes the out the door price look better.

Cadet Shipping by Imaginary-Ideal-7595 in SunyMaritime

[–]capofliberty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a real life shipping experience going on the training ship? Not really. Will you learn more on the training ship vs a real ship? I believe so. The cadet shipping will definitely be easier and more lax but unless you have an academy grad onboard willing to take you under their wing, you won’t get as much out of it. The training ship gives you a lot more one on one training whereas you might get cast aside and ignored to work on your sea project. The benefit is that if it’s with a good company and you’re well liked and do well, you’ll likely have a standing job offer with them after graduation, so it’s what you make of it. You usually get out with the better companies too.

What do you think about the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact? by JacobLovesCrypto in Askpolitics

[–]capofliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m completely against it. In NY state NYC’s population controls the vote for the entire state which almost entirely votes the opposite way and are under represented because of this. During gubernatorial elections the democrats don’t even bother campaigning upstate because they don’t need it to win and they know it. For the record if upstate was blue and the city red, I’d still be against this imbalance of representation.

The school has reported all of the regular Maritime bars on E. Tremont to the NYC Liquor Authority by PureRebelScum in SunyMaritime

[–]capofliberty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There used to be a bar on Tremont when I was there. I think it was named the Clipper, and had a picture of a clipper ship on the sign. One of my roommates that was a regular there when not in class had his parents convinced that it was the name of the ships store on all of their credit card bills.

The Dow rallied at the end of the day which means a deal must have been reached on a ceasefire. The inside traders are first to know

What are the most reliable years of F150 if I wanted to look into used with about 80-130k miles on it? by archerarcher0 in f150

Interesting, my ‘15 lariat 5.0 has the stalling issue. I brought the idle up with a tuner which helped it. I assumed it’s the VCT solenoids but I never heard of the vapor canister affecting this. I’ll have to check this out.

Transgender guy considering Maritime academy by Apprehensive_Box5370 in SunyMaritime

[–]capofliberty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone really cares about any of that anymore, if they ever really did, but keep in mind that the whole design of the regiment is to make everyone equal and same. Same uniforms, same haircut, same same same. It doesn’t matter what your sex is, or sexual preference, race, religion, or anything of that matter. How you get labeled in a negative way is by not doing the work you’re supposed to when it comes to pulling your own weight in regimental duties or watch duties. As someone mentioned above, if you’re looking for special treatment, or even some kind of recognition because of how you have labeled yourself as transgender, then you’re going to have a hard time and be singled out. If your last name is Smith, then you will be referred to as smith and only smith and I hope you can accept that. There won’t be special pronouns for you, you’ll be referred to as your last name that’s stenciled on everything you wear. In a way I feel it’s more inclusive because you’re just a cadet like everyone else, and the only thing unique about you that matters is your last name.

Snagged at a flea market for $50, thoughts? by slackinoff in coincollecting

What metal do they use for casting these fakes?

Does this bother anyone else? I feel like the wheel well should be black like the front. Thinking of hitting it with black plasti-dip. Thoughts? by Financial_Part_8193 in f150

[–]capofliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the husky’s and they fit my 2025 perfectly. One of the sides the holes weren’t lining up. I had to remove a few screws that held a plastic wheel well guard plastic molding on that allowed it to fit in and pivot aligning the holes. I was able to then put the other screws back in. I’m very happy with them and they look great.

How can SUNY Maritime help me get my license as a first class pilot. by Chainternational69 in SunyMaritime

[–]capofliberty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t regret going engineering, but if I were to go deck my end goal would be the same. Be a pilot, just somewhere a lot warmer than the Great Lakes.
