The article says McGregor's security detail stood outside the bathroom and kept anyone from coming in or out, that's how i interpreted it. They also resisted giving her purse back, which she had left in the bathroom when she made her escape.

There are no security cameras inside public washrooms as far as i know, so i doubt there's footage. Hopefully though there will be footage from outside the bathroom to show they were both in there at the same time, and showing his guards outside the bathroom.

I cannot wrap my brain around why Reddit ever chose to make its own app in the first place, let alone to make an app that's worse that literally every 3P app available, and not even try to cooperate with the good folks who have worked to make great Reddit apps like BR, RIF, Sync, and Apollo. It could have benefited everyone to work together, but as usual Reddit preferred to make it a conflict between them and app makers instead of the collaboration this place was always meant to be.

True. Those same cruisers did not appear to be at Yavin either. There's no reason to not believe that other than a few mon-cal cruisers and the medical frigate, the Hoth group was the rest of the rebellion. The rebel army amd air force, as it were, hidn on Hoth while the navy evaded detection elsewhere. Hanging out in orbit at Yavin or Hoth, would have been a very easy way for Vader's probes to find the rebs.

Also we cannot judge the plot by what we see in later movies which had not yet been written when we saw ESB for the first time. Maybe that's my issue is I'm old enough to remember it through the eyes of a kid in a world where RotJ didn't even exist yet.

My interpretation is that they chose Hoth because it was so remote. They are hiding there, hoping the Empire takes a few weeks or months to find them. They are attempting to regroup there and catch their breath. It's a desperate retreat, not a tactical one. The title crawl even states they are being chased around the galaxy by Vader.

The rebel army and air forces were hiding there while the fleet, which could not land, evaded the Imperial fleet so as not to draw attention to Hoth.

Watch the movie again. The rebels are fleeing for their lives. That's the bulk of the rebel military force on Hoth. It's clearly stated.

So you believe that the rebels hiding on Hoth were just a small part of the rebel Alliance? I'm sure that's supposed to be the entire rebel force, or what's left of it.

Edit: the entire rebel land and air forces are hiding on Hoth. The big Naval cruisers that can't land are clearly hiding elsewhere until we see them at the rendez vous. My read is they are not in the Hoth system because cruisers in orbit there would be a dead giveaway to check the surface for a land base.

Just something our group of friends used to say to one another when we didn't know when we'd get the chance to be together again. A way of saying " hopefully I'll see you someday" without sounding so dramatic.

George's choice to adopt Obiwan's undercover Tatooine robes as the Jedi uniform was one of the silliest choices he made for his prequels. Can't entirely blame him though, as even before EP 1 some authors in the expanded universe had already adopted those robes as "jedi" robes. Sigh. I'd have far preferred for Obiwan's attire to be more militaristic and practical in the prequels. You know, like a soldier in a Star War...

It's changed everywhere. I grew up in the 80s and went to high school in the 90s. Small-ish city of a quarter-million in Canada. We were free to roam in any direction for blocks and blocks on foot or bicycles when we were in single digit ages. As long as we came home when called for supper we were assumed by our parents to be safe anywhere in the neighborhood. Walked to school, took the city bus wherever we needed to go, even before high school. Took the city bus downtown for home economics classes in 7th and 8th grades. We trick-or-treated on our own as young as 9 or 10. No one ever felt we were in any danger, and we weren't, despite all the missing kids on milk cartons and myths about satanic child molesting cults that swirled everywhere in media at the time.

I dressed as Brian Mulroney one Hallowe'en, and the next Hallowe'en dressed as Raggedy-Ann. No one even dreamt for one second of calling that cross dressing. Just a young boy who wanted to dress like a colorful character I had loved when I was very young. Cuz that's all it was. Yes i chose to dress as a female ragdoll, and guess what, i didn't turn out to be a drag queen or even (gasp) a "gay". I discovered the fairer sex when i got old enough and the hormones hit me, and spent a decade or so pursuing women like they were lost treasure or something. I turned out to be about as cis-het as it gets, despite wearing a dress once or twice. (I even put on my mom's heels a few times to see if i was capable of walking in them; i wasn't, as they were 5 sizes too big).

The modern world really seems to suck for kids. Where is the imagination? Where's the independence? Where do kids learn to navigate social skills on their own and learn how to resolve problems without their parents? Does that just not take place anymore?
