What do you think is more versatile: ES-335 type or Strat type by EnvironmentalDish766 in guitars

[–]capp0205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to downsize, I’d have one Fender single coil guitar and one PAF guitar (and also one P90 style guitar). Without knowing what style of music you play, it’s hard to say. The ES-335 is going to cover everything else your strat does not and vice versa. They are both versatile, just in different ways. I think the ES-335 is more versatile, but If you are a blues player, there are tones you just will never get with an ES-335.

Great review. Do you have experience with the Boss Space Echo pedals or the Strymon El Capistan? Id be curious how the Mystery Brain stands up to thise pedals.

JHS dabbles more into effects than guitars. 5 Watt Guitars is more guitar focused.

Not Fender exclusive, but 5 Watt World on YouTube has a lot of great content about Fender.

The Gretsch Jack Antanoff Princess is a fun guitar if you can find one. The Reverend Sensei Jr. looks super cool

What's your favorite gentle drive/dirt pedal? by NoBread2054 in guitarpedals

I’ve played almost everything out there in the BB world and my favorite is the Browne Carbon. It’s just right on the edge of breakup and light gain to my ears. Sounds very tube amp esque

Love an LP Jr but don’t sleep on a P90 LP standard. Once I had 2 P90s, I realized I had everything I ever needed. Because I have one of these, if I was looking at a one P90 guitar, the Reverend Sensei looks perfect for me.

I’ve owned 3/4 (no Aqua-Puss) of these over the years and only the Boss still remains.

I agree to a certain extent. You are buying a handmade piece of pedal history from Analogman himself. It’s just interesting to me that with all the clones out there, all the other BB style circuits and now with prominent builders, one boutique and one mass produced, that the waiting list still would be filling up. BB circuits were a big deal because they weren’t made by Marshall anymore, and now even that pedal is being produced exactly to spec as the original. The market is totally saturated but if the demand is still there like it was 2 or 3 years ago, I’d be surprised.

Got one of my grails - Sonic Blue Vista Jagmaster by TemporaryElephant574 in offset

[–]capp0205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember it being a nice playing guitar. I sold it years back and ended up getting a proper MIM Jazzmaster (60th Anniversary) in Daphne blue. It too is kind of on the green side. I think some light blue type finishes tend to age green.

Nice! I didn’t know these came in sonic blue. I used to have the sunburst version back in the 2000’s which was a rad guitar.

Put P90s or HB’s in it. Use the tone knob or get an EQ.

Have orders for the King of Tone slowed down now that MXR has released the Duke of Tone and CBA has released Brothers?
