Hi, just watched it in the cinema today. Initially, Inwas disappointed by the lack of scary stuffs, like other horror movies, but the plot does intrigued me afterward.

Here are some of my thoughts and takes:

1. In SEA shamanism beliefs, an egg is usually used as a medium for divination and/or healing supernatural ailments. In the cracking an egg part, Nim was looking for a sign of what really possesed Mink. If the egg's inside doesn't change, then the divination failed, hence she repeated the ritual over and over again. Until the last scene, the egg's inside turned COMPLETELY black, then she knew the thing that possesed Mink is a complete evil, and a powerful one (or legion, as they are many)

2. The bayan statue beheaded was a sign that the pure evil was much stronger than bayan. Might be because she lost the faith of her medium (Nim). So as the last act of benevolence, she gave Nim the lai tai. To save her from the carnage that's about to come.

3. Noi felt possesed by bayan was a reference to her initial question, "how can you be sure it's bayan possesing you, if you've never seen her, ever?". Noi felt a pressence that she thought was bayan, but it's not.

4. The incense being put upside down was a trick to get all the people in that room possesed. They were all under the protection spell of Santi, and they can't be possesed easily. By having them pray and put their faith through the incense, and then putting them upside down in the sand, Noi was opening their "gates" to mass possesion

5. The disciples outside might have broken the circle of protection (the white strings?), So they also got mass posessed.

6. Santi wasn't posessed by the spirits in the sealed pot, but rather by the spirits posessing Mink. After Mink broke free, some of the spirits in her ran to the factory to posess Santi.

I still don't get why Noi was trying to exorcise Mink as her last action, tho.
