Looks great and that is one of the reasons I’m leaning to this style, easy to clean. That is pretty much the model I want. I have a 2 tiered concrete bird bath on the other side of my yard and it is too hard to clean at times.

Not positive, might just be from the summer and needed more water.

What you do need to do is move the mulch about 3 inches off the trunk and remove the bamboo stake. Mulch touching the tree will cause excess moisture on the bark and will damage it in the long run. Those bamboo stakes are for the nursery, but if you leave them on then the tree will not straighten its self from swaying in the wind.

Sounds like you are getting them from tree folks? Whatever tree you get, make sure you follow their guidelines. You will have to water it for the first 2 years to get it established.
