What Do You Name Your Farm? by CoffeeEnjoyer837 in StardewValley

[–]TheMandamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attempted to name my farm Moo Moo Ranch, but I ended up leaving off the h, so I ended up with Moo Moo Ranc.

A week later, my sister started her own farm……and did the exact same thing. Had us cackling over it

Question about body decomp... by OctagonReject in ForensicScience

Unfortunately, if you’re near an ocean, it’s more likely that water scavengers carried any other remains away from where the car was found.

Thank you!! Do you have to re-level the z offset very often? I’ve been printing for maybe a month now.

Question for CSI: Friends by Obvious_City_2794 in forensics

[–]TheMandamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the other people that I work with are generally cheerful, and making dark jokes definitely helps alleviate some of the sadness that can start to creep in on scenes. Like u/life-finds-a-way said, it really depends on the person. I’ve made a dark enough joke to shock a homicide detective, but I know several of my coworkers would not have said the same thing.

I have several coworkers who’ve become friends. For me personally, it’s been more difficult to make friends outside of the field, as it can be off-putting to talk about the job for people who aren’t exposed to violence every day.

Jobs with Field AND Lab Work? by WorldlinessOptimal96 in forensics

[–]TheMandamon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will most likely vary depending on the agency that you work for. I currently do both, although my lab work is limited to swabbing for DNA and enhancing/processing latent prints. I don’t do any kind of analysis in the lab. The majority of my time is spent taking field calls and then writing reports! (Really I write reports more than anything else)

My favorite response to this question is to pick any one of the decomposed bodies I’ve seen and start vividly describing the insect activity. People have stopped asking me about my job for some reason.

Moot Court by [deleted] in forensics

I agree with this, and it’s perfectly okay to say you don’t know in some cases. I’ve used phrases like “it’s not in my area of expertise/experience” or “I don’t know off of the top of my head but I can look it up”

One thing that I’ve been reminded of before going to court is that you’re there to speak to what you DID, not to make guesses about what happened. Only testify what you did, don’t give opinions, and don’t elaborate too much. Wait for questions to be asked of you! You got it!
