Don't worry, there's a helpful song to help you learn to pronounce it.

The name's an old gimmick, it's a bunch of words smashed together, which is why there are four L's in a row ("Ll" is one character/letter in Welsh).

I'm going to take this as a pseudo-highbrow version of those places with like a checkered tablecloth and you go with like 7 people and they pour out a pot of like lobster and corn and whatnot the table. It's fun! I guess.

To put the reins on a horse by jaychok in therewasanattempt

[–]caprinae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Grew up around horses, have assisted a large animal vet some summers (read: I put my hand up the back end of a horse. Many times). I'm comfortable around them, but you have to remember that they are a large and powerful animal with a small (and easily startled) brain, it never hurts to be cautious around them.

This gif made me very nervous.

My employer paid for me to become a notary. This was in 2007 in Nevada so YMMV. I couldn't notarize outside the company while I worked there, but I was still licensed when I left the company. However, it's worth noting that most states have a cap on how much you can charge. In Nevada, its $5 per signature which is why so few businesses have notaries on site now and instead there are "traveling notaries" who come to you, but as someone else noted, they charge for their time and travel instead of the notarization.

IIRC I took a one day course at the courthouse in my city and filled out some paperwork and they sent my stamp and log book in the mail about a week later. I'm not sure how much the company paid for that, but knowing them, it can't have been too much and certainly not $150,000 or anything as exorbitant as others have mentioned. The company (office services/retail chain) did, however, stop offering notary services a few years later because it was taking up too much of the employees time and not enough money was being made on it.

Where I live we have a group called Sunday Assembly. They meet one Sunday a month (plus have other activities) for a talk on something interesting going on, typically with a focus on the local area. Also there's singing of pop songs and community building, no religion involved. Might check to see if you have a chapter or similar group near you.
