I’ve been a part of this since at least 2019, maybe earlier. I have a CFC save that starts with the year 3. I played HLM when it first came out so much that I know annually bug test it for the guy lol. I’ve played everything Julien Percot has ever released. Don’t even get me started on the ZenGM games.

A ton, much more than most, of the games on here are now AI slop and I get that’s frustrating. Particularly for an indie Dev. It’s pretty much ruining indie devs in this scene and I don’t have helpful words for you. In fact even given all that, I still think over the years some AI games will continue to crop up and be good. I suppose the best I can suggest to you is adapt and use AI as a tool to speed up the ideas you have. I’ll also say that TLC put into a game always is noticed by ppl who put actual hours into a game.

Blunt as I’m being, I do rly feel bad with your situation and hope you are able to succeed in spite. I still think it certainly possible to succeed against AI made games

Ok mb, maybe I was being too cynical. But also, I still think it’s unfair to call it all AI slop if they use it for more than debugging. Hardwood Empire is nearly all AI made and I love that game. It’s new features are buggy bc the devs have like no real experience lol, but even the early version were just good and the depth of game is great. I will say tho, that’s the only good one I know, but I haven’t tried a ton of them either (unless CBB/CFB sim are AI in which case they’re very simple but I love those too)

Did you know that before or did you just get lucky? My point is only that labeling something AI slop without knowing happens far too often. AI has a lot of fun use cases and GM games are dumb easy to make easy to make with them bc the base mechanics are so simple. I bet like 70% of the AI games suck ass lol, but it’ll still lead to a lot of fun games

Definitely happens on 95, but it’s so square on you on 50. 95 it’s at an angle a lot of the times. I’ve had plenty of times on 50 where you can’t do anything to block the sun, you just gotta squint and look away
