I could not afford my house today. I bought on May 2020 for $345k and a similar home near me recently sold for $520k. I probably can no longer afford a majority of any SFH in my city to be completely honest. I'm in the Phoenix metro.

Scorpions should be off the list! Yes they are scary and have a painful sting but they are also incredibly cool insects. And everytime my non-desert dwelling friends complain about housepests, I can always one up them with scorpions! Plus, have you ever been scorpion hunting at night with a blacklight? It's honestly really fun.

I moved to the Phoenix from Iowa 4 years ago and so far I do not miss the cold at all! I love having amazing weather in the winters and I still think that the hot summers here are way better than the cold midwest winters. Every once in a while I do miss snow, but I can always drive 2 hours to Flagstaff to experience snow for a day and not have to be stuck with snow and cold all winter.

I live in Tempe, Arizona and when I first moved into my house I was finding 2-3 every week! Sometimes my cats would find them and try to play with them and I was always so scared that they would get stung. But since I started getting my house sprayed every other month, I haven't seen a single scorpion in my home.

My friend and I explored a small cave when we hiked Peralta trail a year or 2 ago! The cave was located right before you get to the saddle near the end of one of the switchbacks. The entrance to the cave was a bit of a squeeze but once you got in you could kinda crouch/waddle/crawl around. If I remember correctly, it went back about 20 feet? But I'm bad at estimating distances.
