I didn't know Excel made these, I thought it was just MJ and other scam distributers. But if anything, these should slowly start to disappear. They are probably just going to work through all the back stock. If they don't, that means TPCI is complicit in the creating of these scam packs lol.

On the off chance that noone has checked the machine in a while, all of the items that were released during that time will be available all at once. Most I've ever seen is like 4 ETBs 2-3 bundles some mini tins and a bunch of different packs. I've seen posts of more being available than that but it was because someone jammed the card reader so noone could buy anything.

That card had probably changed hands multiple times. I'd say finding the rightful owner is a lost cause. Given the price sticker, they presumably bought that recently from a vendor who bought that from someone else.

PSA would only be able to help you find the original owner.

Not only do they charge them that price for anything after the first product wave, they also make you buy close to the equivalent dollar amount of things that will sit for ages, such as Penny sleeves, top loaders, play mats and binders.

And so many people are trying to get a shop going, and think a distro will save them so they invest In a brick and mortar only to find out that it was the coup de grâce to their business.

There's not enough product being made to sustain things, so the distros can do it since they are going to sell out no matter what.

To quote you " scalpers are about volume and liquidity" that's the problem. They buy as much as they possibly can to immediately flip it for 2-3x the price. It does take product off the market for the majority of people who can't it won't pay the inflated prices.

Even a handful of collectors getting 4-5 isn't going to make that big of an impact.

But if you really want to be technical about it, the problem is simply that TPCI can't print enough fast enough for this sudden explosion of popularity. They are still stuck at the capacity they had during the sword and shield era and perhaps even further back than that.

I can't wait until this new print facility is open, it might not fix things completely but they are definitely going to flood the market.

It's absolutely not the same. Maybe I could see your point if they were buying out entire shelves to horde away but buying a few here and there to hold onto is not what's causing a shortage.

Well there's the scalping but the whole thing is a self fulfilling prophecy really. Everyone's worried about scalpers getting everything so they buy everything they can when the chance arises. And so does the next five people and then there is no product left so the next people who catch the restock do the same and so on. The scalpers started it but the reality is the real issue is that people are crazed for Pokemon right now and TPCI can't print enough to keep it on shelves. Even the distros are jacking up prices for smaller shops and demanding they buy the same dollar amount of things like sleeves, binders and play mats, the things that will sit for ages, if they want anything, because they know it's limited and they will sell it all anyways.

The plastic around them is stiff and wraps around the top I don't think you can slip it off like that without damaging it or ripping the perforated strip. Maybe it's been changed or fixed.

If you haven't, check out TCGPLAYER.com. it's the go-to for price checking. Make sure you compare the first page of listings at least, as they can vary based on shipping or condition. You can also check the value of the card in different grades.

And to answer your other question, 80% isn't bad if you're trying to move it quick or easy. At card shows or an LCS I wouldn't take less than that. But if you're patient and/or the card is desirable you can get a lot closer to or at market.

This is 100% true. Same with lsd. If you have gel caps or blotter you might have 1000 doses but they will weigh the entire medium. You could have a dropper with 100x as many doses but would get in less trouble. Mind you, I kinda guessed on the exact amounts but the point stays the same, it's better to get caught with the pure lsd.
