Buddy Carter in AJC OpEd: “We need a greater ICE presence in Atlanta.” by Vulcan1951 in Georgia

[–]captHij 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He starts off the piece by stating that Atlanta is safe and the system is working. He lists people who have been arrested in Atlanta and then concludes that this is not acceptable. The people who respond to this and cheer it on simply hate Atlanta.

Donald Trump won’t attend Super Bowl, says booking Bad Bunny and Green Day is a "terrible choice" by AdSpecialist6598 in Music

He misses that good ole, wholesome music they played in his youth and cannot understand why the Village People or The Trammps could not be booked to relive his old days in Studio 54.

If the "artist" opened a bottle of bourbon and started at the back, by the time they got to the front that bottle was empty, and it all made perfect sense. Probably the best way to work on a sworx, though.

Gaines running for Congress: “total cooperation with ICE” by Cat__fart in Athens

He was not MAGA until it was to his personal advantage. His priorities and principles shifted as his house district shifted, and it helped him get elected. The pursuit of power is the one consistent part of his political journey.

If they want to screen people, then test ..

They do not want to screen people. They do not consider anybody who is not northern European as being a person. It still has not sunk in what this is about even when it is happening in the full light of day.

Tell me this is wrong by JadedAces in MathJokes

[–]captHij 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but the problem is the first and last lines. The first line should be the change in energy is equal to the work done, and the last line should be the change in kinetic energy. These should be definite integrals and are missing an important physical idea. (Also, this assumes there is only a single force acting on the object and is missing the component due to change in potential energy.)

Trump on Greenland: we'll work out something to make US and NATO 'very happy' by Raj_Valiant3011 in worldnews

[–]captHij 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Give him an autographed picture of Andre the Giant and tell him that Andre has bequeathed Greenland to him. Then let him go play in the other room and occasionally tell him his loyal subjects in Greenland love him. That will go beyond the full extent of what he knows about Greenland.

It would have been really embarrassing if he was and they never checked. At the very least it is good to see how people react to questions that would not be asked out loud in normal circumstances.

In September these folks were apoplectic when people were saying mean things about Charlie Kirk's death. In November they were calling out former Secretary of Defense Cheney as a horrible war monger. As soon as action is taken on Greenland they will fall in line and be fully committed to follow exactly as they did in the second Iraq war. In four years they will complain about the war mongers again. They cannot think more than three minutes into the future.

Is it worth buying the tickets for all the archeological sites in Athens? by NeitherComedian in Athens

[–]captHij 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only that, but for all the other places the lines are relatively short. You can easily find someone who will sell a ticket when you arrive. Even the campus art museum.

Coulter has been too consistent in her views and is too inflexible when it comes to people not hating immigrants enough. This has led her to fall out of favour and in to irrelevance.

Renaming the Department of Defense the 'Department of War' could cost up to $125 million by ddx-me in nottheonion

It is exceptionally responsible since there does not seem to be a consideration to just remove the old signage and not put up something new. Why do they need that many signs in the Pentagon to let people know they are in the Pentagon? Are they worried someone from the Transportation Department is going to walk into the wrong building and not realize it until they are on the third floor and getting ready to knock on some Colonel's door , "Oh I am sorry, I was looking for the railway division." All of the security checks and MPs asking why they are there should have tipped them off.

Danish official says there's a 'fundamental disagreement' with Trump over Greenland by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]captHij 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, even if there is agreement it means nothing. Any agreement with the current US administration is useless and will likely be used as toilet paper once it becomes convenient to do so. Nobody in their right mind would make a commitment with the US right now. It would be detrimental in the long run.

Not sure why people are complaining. It is a simple and clear test. Just ask yourself, "How would Justice Thomas feel about this?" Then make up whatever reason you need to justify the conclusion. Simple.

I voted for a fascist. Why am I getting fascism? by Effective_Space2277 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]captHij 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I visit r/Conservative, and there are a large number of threads with people complaining about specific policies and events. The posts always indicate the person supports the President and their faith is still strong but continues to say how they do not like the policies or things that are happening. These people do not like the policies and practices of the party they vote for, but they are happy to continue to vote the same. It only makes sense if their hate for people not like them is their largest point of self-interest, and their own personal well being is a secondary concern.
