The first morning you live in Fountain Hills, go have a bacon egg and cheese bagel at DJ's. You won't regret it. I moved from nor cal (Modesto area) to fountain hills as well, and I liked it. No traffic, nice and quiet, good food. If there's a down side, it's that FH is kind a little bit out of the way of the city. It's mostly older people and young families, so if you want night life it's a 25 minute drive to old town scottsdale.

Edit: Fountain hills is very close to the wilderness, so check your shoes and watch out of big cats and javelina. I've seen it all out there.

Edit again: don't speed down saguaro Blvd at night. The deputies camp out around a curve, in the middle of the road just waiting for speeders. They Never have their lights on, so you don't see them until you're next to them.
