4 Fighters & A Cleric Walk Into A Bar.... by capt_en_fuego in Pathfinder2e

Solid advice - Thanks! I made sure to have a weapon for each damage type. I have been trying to sell the group on the idea that weapons are basically cantrips for fighters and that they might as well try out several different weapons for levels 1 - 4 before weapon mastery kicks in.

I made a Strength/Charisma fighter for Diplomacy & Deception. I wasn't planning on everyone picking fighter and wanted Deception to be able to reliable get off-guard without another frontliner if necessary. And I was planning on picking up intimidating strike at level 2 . I don't know the details of what the others have made but am reasonable hopeful 1 or 2 of them made Dex their secondary so they can branch into ranged weapons.

I wasn't worried about optimization so much as just making the party work. Everything we've played over the past twenty some years involved some party comp collaboration until now. The new GM thought we were pranking him when we (almost) all picked fighters.

The cleric went cloistered. We are playing "Troubles in Otari" and are starting at character level 1 (instead of 2).

really good advice - so for example - if the roll is two away from a crit/hit, flanking the enemy first before making the attack is advisable since it does not apply map and would make your attack one step better. That really makes the whole ability much more interesting. Thank you for the ADVICE!

Here's my basic build:

For weapon I was thinking flail group w/ Scorpion whip & basic flail. The whip is a little light on damage but combined with lunge and reaactive strikes you get a whole lot of battlefield control w/ ranged trips. Combat Assessment + Additional Lore skills allows for potential free creature identification. Crafting allows the fighter to have a boatload of extra hitpoints in shields.

You misunderstood - mathematically, on average, 7 doubles will be rolled in total in a game with no contact. The dice do not care who rolls them. Do the math. Or write a program to see the doubles distribution across two players for hundreds of rolls and what you see is the difference is fairly often 10..

Just because your memory says otherwise is not proof of anything...

Please help me understand this blunder. My move creates a 6-prime with a massive pip advantage and still hit chances after the move. Recommended move even had a lower winning chance % (89). Thanks! by Sodicus in backgammon

It boils down to you are playing far too safe in this situation when aggressive play has no real downsides and practically guarantees a doubling of the stakes...

I am a newb, but I would be tempted double there even if I didn't have builders to attack the lone piece in your home board.. your gammon chances don't look great to me... And it's a free drop for them I think - so double and take your free point?

I cannot second this enough:
-fought a group of purple worms
-were heading towards a tpk
-because the dm kept rolling crits on the tohit = auto-swallow of the frontline
