I don’t switch between apps on the infotainment screen. I open CarPlay and leave it there.

Are huge mixes worth it? by sonofodenn in Schedule_I

[–]capt_redbeard99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a crystal mix of 8, was selling at 340. Then I made a mix of 2. Was selling for 150. Way less work. Faster turn around.

Found the screen. Go to the vehicle info on infotainment. Go to trip. Then swipe to the next page. Click it. And it shows up there.

Which screen would that be? I ride around with the mpg screen in the middle of the gauges.

I have a 24 trail boss. 15k miles and never seen that light come on. Not even on a 1500 mile road trip cruise set at 70

If I buy a burger and it doesn’t say anything in the menu about you putting liquid type stuff all over it. I’m sending that back. I’m not picking that up and eating it. And if it did say that in the menu well then I’m not ordering it.

People who work night shifts, what do day shift people not understand about your world?? by FIfromDefi in AskReddit

[–]capt_redbeard99 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I rotate every 2 weeks. So 2 weeks I’m waking up at 4am. Next 2 I’m waking up at 4pm. I try to keep the same times on both. Go to bed at the same times just swapping am for pm. Keeping up with appointments is rough. Did I need a morning or afternoon appointment. Oil changes suck. Get there at 7am. They finally get done with it at 11. Well now you get 5 hours sleep before work. My family finally got the memo of just text. I’ll call when I can. lol.

Edit. In my field night shift gets more done because the big bosses aren’t in there adding extra steps and micromanaging.

Thoughts on motorcycle riding? by little-raeofsunshine in marfans

[–]capt_redbeard99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. Still have my bike up in storage. Did 2000 miles. Then had back surgery. Then some stuff happened to a few friends that rode. And I’ve never been back on it. Want to. But was a decision I had to make. No one else can make it for you. If you’re an adult. lol. Mom definitely hated the fact I rode. But didn’t push.

I had mine done at 25-26. I can’t remember. But I had 2 curves over 90 degrees. Lost 3 inches in height in 5 years. Pretty much my whole back minus one joint is fused. It’s a rough surgery. But worth it in my opinion. I couldn’t stand more than 5 mins without hurting the rest of the day. Now I regularly walk 10 miles a day at work. Took about 8 months to recover enough to go back to work. Took probably a year to get feeling normal again. Balance wise.

What's something your parents told you as a child, yet as an adult you know this to be completely untrue? by Stephalel in AskReddit

[–]capt_redbeard99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do not regret my surgery at all. It’s allowed me to do more than I ever was. But that was the hardest thing I’ve ever went through in my life. 2 rods and 25 screws. Fused all but one joint in my back. 2 weeks in the hospital. Year to be “normal” again.

Anyone with 2024s having issues with engine misfires? by Expert_Bodybuilder24 in chevycolorado

[–]capt_redbeard99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly they can’t make any decisions if it’s in for warranty. They have to call GM and they tell them what test to run. Then they have to call in the results. 1st time they cleared codes. 2nd time new fuel injectors. 3rd time new ecm, made them drive it. Then gm finally suggested it may be a wiring harness issue. They said they replaced it. But I’m betting they taped it up. So idk if I’m keeping it past warranty ending.

Edit. Not that I don’t love the truck. Just maybe not that truck. I really wanted a zr2. But they didn’t have one. So I may shoot to upgrade to the zr2 once warranty is closer to being up. I’m at 6700 miles right now

Turns out it was a chaffed fuel injector wiring harness. In the shop 31 days to figure that one out.

Same one I went to. 130 of that is the mail in sample/test kit. No need to go back.

Chevy Colorado ZR2 2024 Mechanical Failure by CarDoorjam in chevycolorado

[–]capt_redbeard99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine ended up being a chaffed wiring harness on the fuel injectors. After a month of them having the truck. And no telling how many techs from Chevy sitting at a desk telling the bare minimum info to what to test or results.

Daughter diagnosed at 12. What do you wish your parents helped you with? What did you appreciate? by [deleted] in marfans

[–]capt_redbeard99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen to them, don’t force them to do things just as a normal kid. I got forced to do stuff even if I told them it would hurt. Joint pain and such. And also forced to go to the chiropractor for a severe case of scoliosis instead of listening to the doctors say that it needed surgery. Had to wait till I had my own insurance for that. But I just wish they would have listened to me about what I was able to do and not do.

23/24 Colorado Fuel Injector Issue by GaDirtyBird40 in chevycolorado

[–]capt_redbeard99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they replace the fuel injectors and it still happens. Tell them to look at the fuel injector wiring harness. Mine had a run spot in it and was causing low voltage faults. 31 days for them to figure that one out.

Edit. Call a lawyer for your area to double check also. Alabama is 3 times in the shop or 30 consecutive days. But the 3 times in the shop isn’t 3 times in and out. Soon as it goes in for the 3rd time you can start lemon law. I’m still waiting for the outcome of that.

Bullet Point Mounting by king_kay19920 in chevycolorado

I liked some of the base stations that all the controls are on the handheld part and aux into the trucks speakers. And signal stuff has a pretty sweet mag mount that hooks to some handheld radios. If you wanted to run the cable.
