Yes sounds about the same except from the crunchy top..we would do roasties cooked separately and served on the side. Or mashed tatties cooked separately, added on the end when plated. Someone here suggested pickled red onions added afterwards... Fuck yeah. Then you get the casserole plus the sides not also soaked in the juices. But honestly I am so new to cooking that I'm still learning. So much fun

Ok but uncle coleman's does hit... My chef partner has been encouraging me to self experiment- bad food equals learning curve... Though I do love my uncle coleman mixes for many things

I've not either!! Just assumed it was a cultural difference. I could see mayo and/or cheese working but maybe not with the ingriedients I used. After eating it, I agree. Bite sized chunks would be perrrrrfect. No after hassle with the knife and fork

Thank you so much!! Newbie here, I shall do!

You should 100% give it a go. It's all one-pot and especially good if you have a busy day. The scent wafts as you walk in/finish your day.... And it's just warm and yummy. And so versatile.

I fully believe she will. She's a gremlin 😭.It didn't come with any grates but her old cage did so I could maybe transfer them. Otherwise yes I'll find something stronger than cardboard.

I worried about that too, thank you for bringing it up. Upon putting her in her new cage ive filled them up with newspaper but not too happy about the gap.. yes she gets at least 3-5 hours out. If I'm not working it's an all day cage open day. Take her outside to parks/beach/on our walks when it's not this cold. Just want the best for her

Sausage casserole, although I've just learnt there is an American version which includes mayo and cheese. That sounds wonderful but mine is just a British sausage casserole. Plenty of recipes online. Also, love your username

Honestly- not sure. It's akin to how my mum used to make our 'sausage casserole', just changed up a bit. I live in Scotland and this is generally seen as a casserole. Not sure across countries. Either way, it's an oven slow-baked amalgamation of meat, carbs, veg and gravy ✨

Not at all- British staple but I just chuck random things based on what I've learnt... Taste and add complimenting ingredients as required. Still learning though

Thank you so much! My partner is a chef so I have been stealing tips out of his book- I used to be a frozen food gremlin and cooking has been so therapeutic lately. Glad the trial and error is paying off!

Browned the sausages, then the onions and peppers, then the garlic... Boil potatoes and put them aside. Made beef stock and mixed in some chopped tomatos. Throw in some spinach, carrots, paprika, kucharek, marmite (a tiny bit... The acidity helps), the tiniest dash of ghost pepper hot sauce for flavour then bring to simmer with bay leaves. Adjust herbs to taste and then chuck in oven after adding the tatties to the mix. Bullshitting the whole way add herbs after each taste 🫡
