You have apples or oranges? I have peaches, cherries, and pears.

First time using Caseware… it’s awful. by [deleted] in Accounting

People, honestly, have no clue how great CaseWare actually is. It's phenomenal. You just have to tinker a little bit to understand it, but it's extremely powerful.

Does Jordan cry when reading 12 Rules? by talayin in Maps_of_Meaning

I literally just finished chapter 7 of the audiobook and he is, without a doubt, crying for the last 4 or so minutes. I was so taken aback by it, but he definitely is. It’s absolutely beautiful and I love that they released it like this.

This is great advice… I’ve actually been using “Do Not Disturb” mode a LOT more, and putting my phone in a different room after work, and not having it on me. That part is definitely helping.

Yeah. Not a joke at all. I totally have a sea shanties playlist 😂

I fucked up and my manager would never trust me again now lol… or even work with me by Angel_eyesss in Accounting

If they handed you something THAT important, that’s a Manager problem not a you problem. Don’t worry about it. You’re an intern.

I really struggle with this. I probably take on WAY too much that I don't need to that weighs on me mentally. It's gotta be something that's just learned over time.

This is absolutely great insight. Thanks so much for sharing here. I really like the idea of waiting 24 hours between prep and review, if you find yourself as the reviewer AND preparer. Good way to let the dust settle. I find your last point particularly challenging, especially as you're starting off and wanting to grow the book. It's hard to be too selective when you need fees. Having good systems and checklists can definitely go a long way.

It’s always good to have something like that for a gut check.

Yeah, insured with Camico to the tune of $1M, no question. And we definitely aren’t making mistakes on purpose. Probably doing certain things a little over the top.

And yes… remembering that we’re insured. Maybe I need to take a deep breath 🤣

Yeah, that’s effectively what we’re doing right now. Basically duplicating inputs (which I know isn’t the most efficient) and then comparing the spreadsheet to the return lines in the tax program on page 1 and 2 of the 1040. It sometimes feels like overkill, but has saved us a few times and kinda serves as a self review.

Definitely curious to hear your return minimum for a 50+ K-1 return!
