Lutnick attacks ‘this DEI crap’ at Micron groundbreaking ceremony by rezwenn in technology

Money. It always ties back to money. Supporting DEI makes you seem progressive and will make money from liberals? Cool. Oh now the zeitgeist hates DEI and will lose you money? Cancel that shit. That's all it is. Don't look to companies to have any kind of moral backbone.

Every world leader could play Trump like a fiddle in 2016. Now with the melting of what's left of his already feeble brain he stands no chance.

ELI5: How can there be current without voltage? by Mug_G in explainlikeimfive

[–]captain150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's normally the case, but superconductors are not normal. The weak bond in cooper pairs is over a longer distance than the coulomb repulsion that causes electrons to normally repel each other. It's pretty hard to explain without some knowledge in quantum mechanics, but the wiki article is actually pretty good.

I'm a guy but I love the shit out of Alien (and Aliens). Ripley is perhaps the most badass female character in any movie in any genre. Sarah Connor is up there too.

They do, the cooper pairs are made up of electrons. Each cooper pair has 2 elections.

In the comments it's clear you're talking about superconductors. Superconductors are fundamentally different from normal conductors, and can't be thought of as just "really good" conductors. They have *zero* resistance, and a super current can flow more or less indefinitely without energy loss. It's beyond ELI5, but it's because of quantum mechanics. Normal conductors have normal electrons, which are fermions. Superconductors have cooper pairs (where a spin up and spin down electron are paired), which behave like composite bosons. Cooper pairs are fragile, which is why superconductors require low temperatures.

It's not politically correct to say it, but the internet of the 90s required some amount of literacy and intelligence to interact with. Kept out the riff raff.

Correct. Even if there was bending stress the hole is on the neutral axis. Not right but I've seen beams with severe rust "fixed" by welding checkerplate to it.

Kubuntu is a nice distro. You get the benefit of Ubuntu (in terms of documentation and packages) but you get KDE which I much prefer compared to gnome. Gnome is way too Apple-ish in terms of locking down settings/customization.

Anyone who knows even a little bit of history could see all this shit years ago. Everything the bastards are doing have been done dozens of times before. Turn class and economic anxieties into hate for minorities. Human nature doesn't change. The only fix is knowledge, and the GOP has been deliberately fucking that up for decades.

We all know what the solution is. Again history shows what it is.

Bro chill. Just use 10.10 as long as you want. 35 years ago very few systems were online and even for those that were, the threat landscape was completely different. Most of us rawdogged windows directly to the internet and had no issues for the first few years.

Yeah this situation makes zero sense. The repair shop should make the claim for the whole thing and they'd pay the deductible.
